Might be operator error, but I went to change the battery and the thing just blinks on and off constantly. Battery lasted about 6 months with daily use at work. 3/5 stars, wouldn’t change a thing.

I hate to say it but this thing came broken out of the box. It blinks like crazy and hardly stays on. It is the way the battery sits in the back. I have used some paper to try and put some pressure on the battery . It is not contacting right. I put paper on the top and sides to tighten the battery in there. It works most of the time but I still have to once in awhile open the back and play with it. I will probably keep the stupid thing only because, although the digital display does not always work, I can still read the numbers on the thing and get a measurement. No more Starrett for me. I am sure it is the battery contact. ... show more
