I recently started frothing milk for my morning drip coffee, and began to wonder if I could make something like a caramel macchiato with my simple drip dark roast coffee. In order to do that I needed some vanilla syrup and what better syrup to try than Starbucks own brand made by Fontana since that's where I first learned about caramel macchiatos? As soon as I receive the syrup I made myself coffee this way and it took me all the way back to years and years ago when I used to get caramel macchiatos from starbucks. One simple pump for the size of coffee I drink, some milk I froth from a steam wand and a little caramel topping and voila! This syrup is exactly what I used to taste in my purchased coffee drinks. I'm profoundly lucky to have come across this product and am now a faithful buyer of it. I'm glad it doesn't come with a pump because I would not want to get a new one every time I ordered a new bottle. Pumps are available separately.. just remember to get the right size for the 1 l bottle. Cost-wise, it's a bit pricey, but to me it's worth it! Besides, all vanilla syrups for coffee are expensive, and this is NOT AT ALL the "most" expensive. Easy five star rating! ... show more

Of all the bottled syrups, I have to say, star bucks and Fontana are the best you can find. Monin and torani, used by dunkin donuts and other shops have a very strong chemical taste. If you've been drinking them for a long time, you learn to ignore it in the same way people who drink diet soda ignore that slightly bitter under taste but once you start eating and drinking better products,there's no going back. I love flavored coffees and drinks and I don't have the time or patience to brew my own syrups and this vanilla syrup tastes just like the vanilla syrup I have made from scratch so this saves me a lot of time. One thing that is VERY important to note is that Starbucks ships these with a free pump. Other syrups do not come with a. Pump, and the pumps on their own sell for almost as much as this bottle of syrup... And you really should use a new one with every bottle. I wish they would put that in the description (maybe it's been added by the time you read this) because that's a huge benefit to ordering this item as opposed to other syrups. This is a great addition to any cup of coffee or any recipe you want to add a bit of sweetness and vanilla to. I've even taken to pumping a couple squirts into my hot chocolate (something they do at Starbucks) :) ... show more
