  • Love these boxes
I have had one of these since 2007 and put it through a lot of torture and it’s still in great shape. Got this one to store my BBQ tools in. Weather tight and big.

  • Stanley 028001L 28-inch took box
I have had 2 of these for almost a year now (and I just ordered one more). I use one of them to carry Most of my small hand tools. It has been all over the place, thrown out of trucks, stood on, sat on, and then I'm pretty sure I used it as a pillow once. The other I use to store my work-sensitive equipment (things like around 1,800 rounds of 9mm, electronics, and papers. I weighed it and it weighs 72lbs altogether, I'm not sure how much the box weighs empty.) it doesn't bend or anything when I pick it up with all that crap in it like normal boxes. These tool boxes are unrealistically durable. I have seen no issue with the hinges and latches and whatever else. My only gripe is that the latches snap at me like an angry King Cobra when I go to unlatch them because they're under the pressure of the rubber seal. If you're looking for a quality toolbox that is saltier than the oldest man in your regiment and then some, a toolbox that will last you until you decide to not need it anymore - and then it will still hang around for 3 months in the corner with an angry scoul on it's face until you apologize and decide to keep it. Look no further. Seriously. I've tried to break this thing. Now I'm mad that I failed. Also, I just kicked one because it made me mad that I couldn't hurt it's feelings. Now my foot hurts and I'm slightly butt hurt. ... show more

  • VERY big toolbox with only 1 small problem.
Pretty much everything you need in a toolbox. Holds all of my tools, including my battery powered drill and accessories, and still has room to spare. The half-length tray is great, and you can put big, bulky tools in and still keep your small tools in the tray. The materiel used to make the box is interesting, feels like brittle, scratchy plastic, but is actually very strong. The hinges seem to be strong, and don't allow the lid to flop all the way back. The latches are simple, strong and easy to use, and are holding together with confidence even under the weight of a full set of steel tools (car and computer repair). My only gripe (1 star off) with this toolbox is that it seems to hold shape when bent out of shape for a long time. I had it open and sitting against a larger, much heavier toolbox, for about 2 days, pushing this toolbox's frame off center. When I tried to close it after that, the lid and body don't line up anymore, and I have to make an effort to push them into alignment when closing so that the waterproofing seals seal. It's not a big deal, and I'm sure it will eventually right itself, maybe after a hot day or something. But anyways, I couldn't find a bigger, stronger toolbox than this for the price, and am quite happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Big and tuff
The media could not be loaded. I wanted a large, tough, water tight tool box for all my camera equipment. Something I could toss in the back of the Jeep and not be concerned if I had the top off and it rained. I also wanted the ability to add locks/bicycle chain to secure it. I got what I wanted. ♦ Made of structural foam. It is solid and I feel it could take a lot of abuse. ♦ Well built. I can stand or sit on it without any bending. ♦ Large, but not as large as the description states. ♦ Metal closures on both sides allow for locking. ♦ Handle is thick and solid. I do not feel it is a weak point. ♦ Integrated handles on each end for heavy boxes or two people. ♦ One upper inside tray that can fit on either side. Will only fit on ends. Removable. ♦ 20 inch ruler on lid. ♦ Built in groove for carrying objects like pipes. ♦ Weight. Weighs a lot empty, about 10 pounds. ♦ Made in the US according to sticker. ♦ Product label on front is easily removed without any residue. This is not a toolbox that someone can easily steal. Truck bed to truck bed maybe, but walking/running with this big clunker would draw attention. When this box is full of camera stuff, it is heavy and not easy to maneuver. I am very pleased with this purchase and it was much better than I expected. A solid, well built toolbox. I like it so much, I am purchasing another one. Lowes has this same toolbox for $23.98. See pics above. ... show more

  • Garden Tool Storage Solution
After using the Stanley 28-inch structural foam toolbox for the past three months of summer, I found it is nearly perfect for storing my garden tools in remote areas around our 2-acre property. In the past I've tried using other items such as food coolers and buckets with lids but none kept out the moisture, most didn't keep out the rain. The Stanley toolbox is not under any cover and despite heavy rains at times over the past 6 weeks, no moisture has gotten inside. I tucked the toolbox next to the vegetable garden that is located near the entrance to our property, so that I don't need to collect and carry tools each time I want to weed and harvest. I keep bags for colIecting vegetables and other items in t he box so I can stop and harvest veggies for supper on my way home from work. I can even sit and garden or rest on the box. It isn't heavy and I can easily carry it with the tools. The only difficulty for me is opening the clamps which are very tight and tough on my arthritic hands, so I use gloves to open it. I believe the tightness helps keep moisture out. I don't know how it will stand up over time with sun exposure or freezing temperatures, but for the price and my summer gardening it is a super solution. I will be buying more boxes for other garden areas. ... show more
