Style: Base Camp Cook Set (21 Pieces)
We got this kit for car camping, and it's awesome! The entire kit sits within the large pot, and there are image directions printed within the set on the underside of I think one of the pans so you know how to layer them to make it fit. The small frying pan and large pot heats up quick, so I use the lowest setting on my gas stove to cook. To boil water, the highest stove setting will heat up water very quickly. The frying pan has a movable latch which you must push towards the base of the pan and it cannot be moving or loose, otherwise, when you pick up the pan, the handle will move and the pan will fold over on itself. We've now used this kit for over a year for numerous camping trips, and it works like a champ! We probably won't upgrade for a very, very long time because it's durable. Cleaning burned off food can be a pain, but with a soak and a scrub, everything comes off fairly easily - we've never had issues with cleaning. There is also a small flat piece of plastic, which is a dish rack for the plates - it's ingenious and well thought out, because laying dishes out while camping can be annoying. It's a great kit for beginner campers, car campers, glampers, and backyard camping. Weight-wise, I wouldn't get this if you're rappelling up mountains, or going somewhere remote. Otherwise, it's really paid itself off in how many times we've used it, and will continue to use.

The quality is easy to recognize. Heavy bottoms. All pieces fit nicely. Even the utensils seem well made. The fry pan is a bit smaller than I thought it would be but perfectly usable. This would be kind of heavy for back packing but great for tent camping, kayak camping or even RV. I will add photos when I get to use them.

Base camp kit is awesome! Great packable design. Stainless steel cookware is just the right density to be respectively durable and light. Only con so far is the cutting board. Won’t survive a sharp blade. Still, this set gets an A!

Do you take your family on camping trips to a state or national park, or even a private campground? Do you use a tent or a camper? Never have but want to start? Start investing in some quality products. If you're like most families I know, on your first trip you took your good cookware from home but realized what cooking over a campfire does and don't want to subject your expensive pans to that again. You then grabbed some cheap "cook kits" from the Big Box Store or other inexpensive pots and pans that are awkward to pack because of those pesky handles and glass lids. The pots aren't big enough to hold what you want to cook (or maybe that 14 inch fry pan is too big for your little cook stove). And every year you think to yourself that something better must be out there. This is better. So much better. Heavy duty stainless steel construction with the extra think bottom, this is just as good as anything you'd buy for your home, just a little more compact and fits together for easier storage and has folding handles. Yes, this set is more expensive than dollar store items but will last far longer, take up less space, and keep everyone fed and happy. This kit does not come with plates or eating utensils - Stanley does have another set that does. I have both now and while I like the other kit I think this cooking set is superior. That does not take away from the Base Camp Kit as it meets a different need. If you need that sort of item then you can easily get something at the dollar store that will be good enough. We're talking car camping not ultralight backpacking. If you watch for deals you may be able to get both sets for a reasonable price. Campfire or propane stove, this kit has you covered.

Style: Fry Pan Cook Set (9 Pieces)
I purchased this Stanley set for the fry pan in particular and it turns out it’s that the only thing I’ll be using as everything else is the quality of something from a children’s play kitchen. I was lucky that the plastic fry pan lid actually fit, but don’t use it as I nest my MSR stainless steel plates on top during travel. One of these plates also works well as a lid. I think the fry pan was worth the price of the kit and have used it several times with a small stainless steel spatula I found locally. I have stainless cookware at home and had no problems using or cleaning up this Stanley fry pan. Non-stick camping sized fry pans alone were about double the price of this kit and I know the Stanley pan should last many years if I take care of it. The non-stick omelette fry pans I buy for home usually only last about 2 years before the coating begins to fail, and that’s using silicone or soft plastic spatulas. So inclusion, while the plates, utensils and other accessories were subpar and should have been replaced with a lid, I like the quality and performance of the fry pan and can recommend it to my fellow campers. Well-made and convenient for camping, fishing and hunting trips, ect. I own several of the Aventure cookware and they have all held up extremely well. Just wish Stanley still made their products in the USA.
