  • Great Cookset for the price!
Size: 3 Piece Style: Two Cup Cook Set
I am amazed at how cheap this actually is from Amazon (at time of review, $17 + FSSS). I picked up one and decided to give it a whirl with the 3.9oz backpacking stove. Right now my cookset is comprised of the following: GSI 18oz Cup/Pot (the Stanley lid will fit the GSI cup as well - paracord shrouded handles) Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set (took out the two green cups) Condor H2O pouch Optimus Long Handle Titanium Spoon LMF Spork in bright yellow 3.9oz Camp stove with Piezo Ignition Brunton remote stove stand (and windscreen - for winter camping the remote allows you to place the canister upside down to aid in vaporization of fuel and the windscreen can go around the stove) Jetboil 100g canister Snowpeak 450 Single Wall Titanium Cup (paracord shrouded handles) Universal beer coozy (I got for free from some ESPN tailgate event, it's like those old slap bracelets from middle school except with foam - to go around the titanium cup to keep liquids warm for drinking and/or for wrapping around the gas canister to keep it from getting too cold in the winter) Domino strike-anywhere matches in a matchsafe Small bic lighter This setup was really created for two, but I also use it on my solo outings since it's all contained in the H2O pouch. I also carry a Guyot Designs steel 32oz bottle with a Humangear Capcap on top. I carry the steel bottle instead of a regular nalgene so I can, if I need to, just toss the whole bottle (minus the cap) into a fire to heat water. I'm not a "light backpacker" by any means, but all of that stuff in one contained kit isn't very heavy and it lashes pretty easily to my ALICE/MOLLE Hellcat pack. So I tried this just in my backyard, covered in about a foot of snow as I'm in Ohio, and it works insanely well for it's small packing size. The following is how I nested my items. In the main compartment condor pouch: GSI Cup/Pot (cook set nested in cup) Stanley Adventore Camp Cook Set Jetboil Canister (inside cook set - bottom) Measuring cup I had laying around that's the same diameter as the cook set turned upside down over canister Matchsafe (marbles) Stove Lid to cook set Snowpeak Titanium Cup (all items after this are contained inside the cup) Salt/pepper shaker Two bottles tabasco (mre sized) Bottle of dish soap Coozy Then in the pocket of the Condor pouch: Windscreen Brunton remote stove stand LMF Spork in bright yellow Small eye-dropper of bleach for water purifying Small BIC lighter Again, this was set up for two BUT it also makes an incredible solo winter kit too. Everything is covered, and in redundancy if you're solo. I need to cut a little piece of green brillo to keep in it, but otherwise it's darn near perfect. If you're wondering about anything, just ask. I know that as I use it more I will likely make changes, but for now, it works well. ... show more

  • Great item
Size: 3 Piece Style: Two Cup Cook Set
This set is very handy camping or hiking. Nests together saving space. Has been very durable so far. I removed the plastic tab from the lid and replaced it with a stainless-steel split ring. Doesn't melt and can be used to suspend the item over the fire. Very functional.

  • Great Little Cook Set
Size: 3 Piece Style: Two Cup Cook Set
I really like this Stanley cook set. It’s compact, durable, and perfect for solo or duo camping trips. The stainless steel pot holds 24 oz and has measurement markings, which is handy for cooking dehydrated meals. The vented lid doubles as a strainer, and the two insulated cups are great for sharing hot drinks or soup. Everything nests together neatly, saving space in my pack. ... show more

  • Simple. Durable. Reliable.
Size: 3 Piece Style: Two Cup Cook Set
I find this to be an amazing little product. In a time where we are faced with a plethora of over-engineered camping and "survival" products replete with far to many moving parts (and price points) and complemented with advert blitzs' to convince us of their worthiness, the simplicity of the design of this little item is refreshing - and, IMHO, underappreciated for the same reason. I have two (2) of these, both deployed to my emergency evacuation gear. As I live in an area where the threat of wildfire is ever present and exacerbated by government inaction within their spheres of responsibility, one might well imagine the importance I attach to and care I make in selecting such equipment. In the interests of full disclosure, while I have lived and worked under field conditions I have not used this product under such conditions. I have "backyard" tested it, and, while certainly not the same thing, my actual field experience tells me it will work just fine for its intended purpose - to help keep me alive and functioning for 3 - 5 days in an emergency and under adverse conditions. I bought mine a couple years apart and from different sources - obviously, one was Amazon. No difference in quality. The cups nest neatly within the cooker and, when assembled, the lid and contents remaining secure due to the rather cool latching system. I noted no undue rattling when shaken - those concerned with noise discipline will appreciate that. I found cleanup to be rather easy, using only those things already a part of my "go bag" - but I do recommend *immediate* cleanup. The only adverse impact, if such it can be characterized, is discoloration to the bottom of the cooker (from the heat). Heat conduction struck me as damn good - certainly within acceptable levels for all but the most, uh... 'discerning'. A bit over an ounce of 90% alcohol in a homemade alcohol stove boiled a cup of cold water for a full minute in sub-freezing temperatures at 2400 ft in altitude (my back yard). Weight, including the cups, I find well within tolerance. A note about the cups: I have read reviews denigrating the cups for various reasons - too much weight, not metal, etc. With absolute respect for those points of view, I disagree. For my purposes, anyway, they are essential - if for no other reason then they obviate the need for a mess kit or alternates. They, too, are easy to clean albeit with the same caveat. Just don't try to boil water in them... :-) In short, I highly recommend this product and plan on acquiring yet another one. ... show more
