Perfect for getting the wood stove ready for winter fires. The rope is substantial enuf to make a good door seal. The glue is acceptable. Be sure to carefully clean off all residue and make sure the metal is clean, dry and without foreign bits and pieces. I did a dry measure of the door with the rope and then cut it 2" longer. The extra length allowed me to glue the corners completely filled with the rope. It took the 2 extra inches to complete my 48" door. I expect it to last about 2 to 3 years, and then may require regluing/replacement. Tight seal!! ... show more

Arrived when expected, packed well. Gasket looks good. Put in on my wood stove, went pretty well. Glue was pretty sticky though. Haven't fired it up yet so if anything goes awry there will be follow up. Kidding about the glue.

    • Bad glue tube but rope is nice

The rope is nice and easy to trim after glueing the rope in position. I watched a YouTube presentation of someone replacing a rope and this really helped. The only reason that I give this four stars is because the glue tube actually broke open. The tube is way too thin in order to kneed the glue out of the tube. It is also very thick and had a hard time coming out of the tube. After cracking the tube I put it on a paper towel and just squeezed hard and used a paint brush to apply the glue to the area where the rope was to go. In thin application the glue also dries very quickly. It was fine to use a paintbrush and just know that I would throw the paint brush away. It helped it application. Kind of a waste since I had to throw the glue away but it was fine because I knew I wouldn't need it again. The Rope is still glued in place so I guess it was enough. ... show more

Really is a wide range it fits due to stretching and thinning it down. I believe it will hold up well. Looks solid.

    • Install was not easy
Size: 5/8" x 1/8" x 84" Flat Rope
It did do what it was intended to do but was very messy trying to install it. Worse thing about it was the tube of adhesive needed to be kneaded to mix it up, however, the tube is made of soft metal and during the process of trying to put a small bead of adhesive on the stove the tube split in several places and ended up with more adhesive on my hands than the stove. Ended up using a popsicle stick to spread it out on the stove before applying the actual fiberglass flat rope seal. In the end it all worked out but they need to do some work on a better way to apply the adhesive or at least a better tube to prevent splitting. ... show more
