We had another stainless steel slow eating bowl for our Doberman mix who thinks he’s in a food eating contest every time we feed him (despite the fact that he gets two full meals/day plus tons of snacks/Kongs every day). The other bowl worked fine (it was what I describe as a “donut bowl” - raised in the middle) but it didn’t have anything on the backside of it to grip the floor and would slide around and drive us all nuts. This bowl is much better in my opinion because it sort of has “nooks & crannies” that he has to work around to eat. It’s also shallower which is easier to mix his wet and dry food in and most importantly, it has silicone grippy material on the back side so it doesn’t slide and bang around on the tile floor. It’s way easier to clean and is even dishwasher safe! It appears to be solidly built and in the month or so that we’ve used it (2x/day) it still looks brand new. I would recommend this to anyone looking to slow down a canine who is a speed eater. ... show more

The quality of material and the speed at which my dog slowed down her eating is better than I expected. Nice wide bowl, with good weight. The rubber on the base goes around the entire perimeter, not just in 4 or 6 little spots. so the bowl does not move around much at all. I got the paw shaped bowl. It’s a great quality and I loved being able to put it in the dishwasher. However, it advertises that it can hold 2.5-4cups of dog food. My dog usually takes 3cups and although it technically fit, it didn’t not comfortably fit. Not sure how you could use it for 4cup. Also, sometimes got kibble stuck in the edges. I have two very excitable puppies who love to chew and eat food fast. We wanted bowls that were easy to clean, durable, and less likely to spread toxins or collect bacteria. These are amazing, we have had them for over six months and they have held up well, the are so easy to clean and really do help slow down the puppies. My pups are 50 and 55 pounds and I would recommend if you are feeding them over 2 cups per meal then to find a bowl that's bigger in size. After 2 cups the slow-feeder portion of the bowl doesn't really work anymore but if you don't mind that then I definitely say purchase! Also I wet feed my dogs and will always wet feed them, I found that when using the hot water to soften the food, I really think the material of the bowl helped keep the food warm for them. I loved that, the idea of my dogs eating cold pebbles just didn't sit right with me, they should have warm food every meal! ... show more

We have several slow feeders that are plastic. So I decided to try a metal one. I like that it is stainless, it has a non slide bottom but it doesn’t slow down my dog. I am keeping it as an extra bowl because I have already used it but I will not be buying more for the other dogs.
