I was disappointed because for some odd reason I just assumed it would be 45lbs. After research it’s about 25lbs. It’s a beautiful bar but isn’t what I wanted. I would personally still buy this in addition to what I actually wanted so if you’re looking for a light bar this is a good buy.

    • Decent Beginner 5-Foot Barbell

I’m new to barbells, so I didn’t want to spend a lot. Ordered the 5-foot (60-inch) as an Amazon Warehouse deal, only $59, and am very pleased with this bar. The sleeves rotate on brass bearings, and the bar, although 2 feet shorter than the official Olympic spec, is long enough for a beginner planning on light use. The bar grip is wide enough for me , although I’m sure it would not be adequate for someone looking for serious weight training. It’s also about one-third the price of a full-spec 7-foot Olympic bar. The 5-foot bar weighs 24-1/2 pounds. I have a few Olympic weight plates I use with an existing bench/exercise machine, I’ll use those plates on the bar, with a total weight of about 100 pounds. While this isn’t much, it’s a lot more than the twin 25-lb dumbbells I’ve been using. If and when I start bench pressing over 100 pounds I’ll consider buying more weight plates and upgrading this bar. If I get into weight training this bar will quickly prove inadequate, but for now it’s an inexpensive way to try out using a barbell. Many weight sets come with 300 pounds of weights, I have no expectation of ever wanting or needing that much weight. One note: Many reviewers are complaining about long delivery times, late, or non-deivery. One tip is to click on the seller to check the seller rating, if it’s below about ninety-five percent that’s an indication that the seller is unreliable and should be avoided. I’ve always had good luck with any Amazon Warehouse deal. Also, avoid any brand-new sellers with little or no buying history. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Everyone has been complaining about the weight not being 45lbs but honestly this barbell is pretty heave. I am 5ft and 140lbs and it’s heavy for me. I added 20 Morelos with plates and it was just enough. This barbell is perfect for work at home workouts. Shipping was fast and no issues with the product. I definitely would recommend for all beginners and moms at home that want to start upgrading their home workouts! ... show more

1st package was a week late according to tracking updates/estimated arrival time... No big deal really. If that was it I could live with it. BUT 2nd when package did arrive it was ripped open on one end & the other end was missing. The bar was shipped in a Flimsy cardboard tube and had been destroyed during shipping. 3rd the worst issue of all is the fact that the bar has no bushings installed on the ends where the 2 inch end starts. So the ends where weight is added spins as most do, but it wobbles and is not very smooth. So I cannot imagine it lasting very long. 4th the ends where weight is added is not smooth. It has rings grooved all the way down. Again, not a deal breaker by any means. Overall quality of bar SUXS!!! Definitely do not recommend purchasing. You get what you pay for and this is one u don't want to buy cheap bc it ain't worth it. ... show more

It took two orders to get one. Apparently the first was damaged in transit, which is understandable considering how poorly these things are packaged. Cardboard tube with plastic ends that were falling off by the time it arrived at my house. The product itself is solid, though. Good knurling, freely spinning bushed ends, can't complain about the price. Isn't the cheapest thing going but certainly isn't the most expensive either. I was mostly just glad I was able to get one in my hands considering how hard it is to get home gym equipment right now. Overall would recommend. I'd just suggest the shipping department use stronger tape on the ends of the packaging. ... show more

I purchased the 5ft Olympic bar. It arrived on time and I am very happy with it. We use it for CrossFit exercises in our home gym. The bar weighs 25lbs. The only gripe I have is that the price went down $12 the same day I purchased it and Amazon wouldn’t do a price adjustment.

    • Not for anyone shorter than 6'

While this bar works OK for my 6' husband, it didn't work for me (I'm 5'5 athletic build with broadish shoulders from 5 years of powerlifting). The knurling starts too far out (past my shoulder width), and I'm not able to deadlift while holding the bar on the knurled part with proper form (straight arms). It was even a bit far out for my husband as well. The center knurling is also a bit short and not as aggressive as what we're used to; heavy squats don't feel as stable as they should. In addition, the ends don't spin as freely and as smoothly as I like for front squats and cleans. After a couple of sets, my wrists weren't very happy, and I've never had wrist pains with other bars. Overall, it's not a bad bar for someone who is taller (over 6') with broad shoulders but definitely wouldn't recommend for people who are shorter or more slender. Unfortunately returned.
