  • 6 ft standard barbell 1 inch thick review
Color: Chrome Style: 1-inch, 6FT
I bought the 6 foot barbell that is 1 inch thick (The standard not Olympic). It weighs about 15 LBS and fits nicely on my weight rack cage. The distance I measured between the inside of the inside collars is about 48.5 inches. The distance I measured from the outside of the inside collar to the edge (where you put the weights) is a about 11.25 inches on each side. Each inside collar is about .5 inches thick. It is a solid bar and appears to be really sturdy. I was confused if it could support 350 lbs. or 700 lbs. The Amazon description at the top says 350 lbs. but the manufactures description seems to say 700 lbs. Either way out of my lifting range so I am happy. I find the grip grooves are perfectly placed for benching. I gave it 4 stars because I wish it had an additional grooved grip in the middle. Nothing big. Can be solved with weight lifting gloves. ... show more

  • Fairly pleased
Color: Chrome Style: 1-inch, 7FT
Bar is solid. I didn't realize that I bought a 7 foot bar and my weight room is pretty small so it's a tight fit but nonetheless a great buy. Bar starts flexing at around 200 pounds loaded on it.

  • Bar
Color: Black Style: 2-inch, 7FT
It is exactly as described. I weighed it and it was 44.6 lbs. Scale could be off a little, so I am saying it is 45 lbs Good solid bar so far.

  • Perfect!
Color: Chrome Style: 2-inch, 7FT
I purchased this to donate to my 15 yo daughters weight lifting class at her high school! The teenage girls were over the moon to have a new barbell.

  • Slightly smaller than standard
Color: Chrome Style: 1-inch, 7FT
I needed a 7 foot bar but I already had a bunch of standard plates and didn't want to buy an entirely new set of 2" plates. The bar was a good price and was just what I needed. The diameter of 0.97" does mean that 1" locking devices aren't quite snug enough to keep plates from tilting when on the ground. ... show more

  • Great Value for the Price
Color: Chrome Style: 1-inch, 7FT
So I was searching for a 7ft 1inch bar to use with my power rack with weights I've already had for decades for my small home gym. If you don't know 1 inch 7ft bars are hard to find and expensive if you do find them. I happen upon this bar on Amazon and saw the price and thought wow, great if it works. I order it and it took 3 months to get. Had to have it reordered 3 times,.. got lost in transit twice. I don't know what that's about. But finally it arrived. Balance is pretty good, thou the weight is off. It says in the description that it is 7 pounds. It's actually 17.9 pounds, but not a big deal so long as it holds up to the weight. I don't lift extreamly heavy any more. Just need something that can hold 300 pounds max. I'm generally around the two hundred pound mark for most of my work outs unless I'm doing legs. So... so far she's held up pretty good tho I fear if I flex the bar too much it might bend. So if your rough with your equipment this might not be the bar for you. But I would recommend it for light work outs. I would have bought me another one but don't want to go through the headache of waiting so long for my bar. The knarling on the bar isn't bad either, it allows you to get a nice grip with out the bar spinning in your hand or slipping. I can't speak to the durability cause i only had the bar for about two weeks. But it does feel solid but light and you get the impresion if you overload it or flex the bar by pushing to hard on it while it's weighted that it will bend. so I wouldn't recommend it for extreme heavy lifting of more than 300 pounds. which for most people should work, besides if your going more than 300 pounds you should be using olympic weights. Just for reference I'm 6ft 230 Pounds. Hope this helps some one. ... show more

  • Decent Beginner 5-Foot Barbell
Color: Chrome Style: 2-inch, 5FT
I’m new to barbells, so I didn’t want to spend a lot. Ordered the 5-foot (60-inch) as an Amazon Warehouse deal, only $59, and am very pleased with this bar. The sleeves rotate on brass bearings, and the bar, although 2 feet shorter than the official Olympic spec, is long enough for a beginner planning on light use. The bar grip is wide enough for me , although I’m sure it would not be adequate for someone looking for serious weight training. It’s also about one-third the price of a full-spec 7-foot Olympic bar. The 5-foot bar weighs 24-1/2 pounds. I have a few Olympic weight plates I use with an existing bench/exercise machine, I’ll use those plates on the bar, with a total weight of about 100 pounds. While this isn’t much, it’s a lot more than the twin 25-lb dumbbells I’ve been using. If and when I start bench pressing over 100 pounds I’ll consider buying more weight plates and upgrading this bar. If I get into weight training this bar will quickly prove inadequate, but for now it’s an inexpensive way to try out using a barbell. Many weight sets come with 300 pounds of weights, I have no expectation of ever wanting or needing that much weight. One note: Many reviewers are complaining about long delivery times, late, or non-deivery. One tip is to click on the seller to check the seller rating, if it’s below about ninety-five percent that’s an indication that the seller is unreliable and should be avoided. I’ve always had good luck with any Amazon Warehouse deal. Also, avoid any brand-new sellers with little or no buying history. ... show more
