Spode Christmas Tree has graced table's all over the world since 1938. The pattern feature's a green banded traditional Christmas tree design. Each year this beautifully classic pattern adds many new dinnerware, accessories and giftware to it's range. There is no better holiday tradition than the gift of Spode Christmas Tree. I am so glad I ordered this tray. It is beautifully made with no stray mold lines, no rough edges, no design flaws. The decoration is incorporated into the material. I could find no visible decal edges, nor could I feel any. It has raised edges, about 1 inch high on all four sides that are angled out at about a 45 degree slant to the flat surface of the tray. These will corral any stray utensils or wandering liquid. The handles continue the angle and go up and out from the raised edge. It is sturdy. They describe it as light weight, but I consider it quite heavy for a "plastic" material. It is large and sturdy enough to handle 10 ceramic mugs filled with cocoa. I think it would also handle a layer cake or a roast. I am not sure how it would stand up to knife cuts, and I'm not going to try. Maybe a cake cardboard to protect it would be a good idea. Honestly, I don't work for this company! I'm just very pleasantly surprised that this tray, which I bought to hold a variety of holiday treats for an office staff, is in itself a beautiful gift. ... show more
