Pretty piece, but made in China. According to another vendor of Spode Blue Italian, most if not all serving pieces are now made in China. I was disappointed to hear this, but as I said, still a pretty piece. I bought this as a surprise Christmas Gift for my Wife. It arrived safely and with plenty of time for the holidays. She was Quite pleased with the Gift. I was somewhat disappointed that the Spode Platter was not manufactured in England as is the reputation for the Company. Stickered on the box was "Made in China". The manufacturing stamp on the bottom of the platter does not show the origin, but it does not say "Made in England" as are the other pieces in her collection. I did notice it mentioned "made in England" in the description on the amazon page. I removed a Star for it being made in China alone. The quality and printing appear fine.

Very pleased with this platter. The pattern is vibrant and the shades of blue are beautiful. I like that the center is slightly recessed so that any juices will not run off onto the table. There are no flaws.

I am collecting the Spode Italian blue pieces and I love the vibrant color of this oval plate even if it is China-made, the thickness is great and there is no flaw on the glazing. Its a little over-priced but I have no disappointment.

I love this platter. It is a great addition to other blue and white items in my home. It is made by Spode which means it will be sturdy and quite usable.
