I’m a speech-language pathologist working in an elementary school, and out of the 7 new games I recently added to my therapy room, this is the one every single student keeps reaching for! The dinosaur launcher is not only adorable and engaging, but it also doubles as a standalone tool to target fine motor skills and imaginative play. The colorful “snacks” make it easy to target vocabulary, categorization, and color matching, and of course - it’s a perfect opportunity for turn-taking practice. The gameplay is easy to adapt, which makes it a dream for therapists. Whether I’m working on articulation, following directions, or expressive language goals, I can use this game with any student, at any level. It’s also a hit across the board with OT and early intervention colleagues - so much so that we already had to buy two more for other therapy rooms because clients didn’t want to stop playing! From a play-based learning perspective, this game is gold. The board is visually engaging, the components are sturdy and well-made, and there’s no rigid “finish line,” so it encourages open-ended play. I love that players can move in either direction on the board - it keeps things fresh and accessible for kids with varying attention and cognitive skills. The only minor note: sometimes the dino’s tongue doesn’t retract fully, especially if a little one pulls too hard. Not a dealbreaker - just worth checking before each round. Still, it’s held up really well, even with heavy daily use. Bottom line: This game is cute, durable, highly motivating, and incredibly versatile. Whether you’re a therapist, teacher, or parent, this is an amazing addition to your toolkit. Can’t recommend it enough! NOTE: Amazon made me pick exactly one age to comment on appropriateness for, but it’s literally a hit with ALL ages from early intervention through high school (my highschoolers love it), and all different populations ranging in severity and goal area. ... show more

This was a hit with my cousin's 5 year old. After her friends left her birthday party, she asked me to play the game with her, her mother, and younger sister. It was easy to set up and the directions weren't too confusing for her. Her mother and I assisted her younger sister to help her move her piece, but she (the younger sister) loved pushing the button to move the dinosaur to open it's mouth. ... show more

My elementary speech and language students LOVE this game! It is highly motivating to students aged 5- (and even they have admitted it) 12. It takes a couple minutes to set up and breakdown but is worth the effort. When assembling the dinosaur, you have to snap his feet on- no biggie. They click. It’s getting them off and they don’t always want to pop off. I am still convinced I’m going to break those feet off but here we are- it’s been played many, many times and it’s like new. It does seem to get easier to pop them off. If I had a larger speech room and area, I’d leave it set up- the dinosaur anyway- but alas IYKYK- the speech suite is very “cozy.” Great game, fun gadget to use to ‘eat’ food, just be careful with those feet. I purchased the Snack-O-Sarus Rex game to have when our grandchildren come to visit. The game arrived with all pieces in tact and in my opinion very well made. The "snacks" are thick paperboard or cardboard that are slightly metallic so Rex can "lick up" the snacks with his magnetic tongue. Rex is made of thicker plastic and made to rotate when a player holds his tail turning him. Rex is also standing on some rocks which rotate smoothly around the game board. Pushing the button on the tail will make the tongue pop out to grab snacks or knock other players back. The game board is bright, colorful and sturdy. The cave people are solid brightly colored plastic (the kids said they are funny and liked their names).. This game is easy to learn. Our grandchildren are four and six and they now know how to set up and play it without our help. I believe they changed the rules to be "knock people off as many times as you can". Watching and hearing them laughing that much is worth it!. I would recommend this game to everyone. ... show more

The children I work with absolutely love this game and wanted to play it all the time during our speech therapy sessions! Once it’s set up, gameplay is very easy. They especially loved squeezing the dinosaur’s tail to either pick up a piece or knock over an opponent’s pieces. I initially thought the knocking-over aspect might cause some problems, but it was all in good fun and the kids had a great time with it. Definitely a favorite! ... show more
