Description
Beat the Parents is the family showdown game where kids compete against their parents for household supremacy. My kids are using this to manipulate me and my wife
I got this on a whim cuz it looked fun and the price point was generous. I thought it was a good purchase, until about a month after it arrived. Within that time, my wife and our four kids would play this two, three times a week. It was a lot of fun. You can play it right out of the box with about 30 seconds of skimming the rules. Our youngest is 8 and she had no problem playing it. Our oldest is 17, and he had fun, too - so it scales really well by age. Anyway. A week ago, one of the kids asked us to play, and convinces us to make a wager related to something he wanted to purchase. Ok. A few days go by, and then his little sister asks to play, and convinces us to wager something she wanted to purchase. Yesterday, I caught three of them whispering frantically as they colluded for their next wager for the third sibling. I am at once proud and horrified.

Great for family gams night of trivia
Love this game, more kids and differing age group would make it even better. Me and my 7 y.o play alone against each other and fudge the rules a little for our own needs. Totally worth it

Best Game Ever
This has been one of the funnest games we’ve played. We do game night quite often in our home. I’ve enjoyed this game the most so far! At first I thought the questions may have been too challenging for my 10 and 6 year old, but they aren’t. Some questions we’ve all been stumped on, which makes it more fun. Definitely recommend adding this one to the collection!

Cute but needs some added house rules to make it more fun
Bought this as a Christmas gift for our two kids, aged 9 and almost 5. I’d thought the almost-5-yo could enjoy the “challenge” part of the game even if she sent able to read or guess most of the trivia, but a lot of the challenges were things none of us wanted to do—we kept discarding them and choosing a new challenge card until we found one we were all interested in trying. The overall mechanic is fun, and our 9yo loved the little whiteboard and the wager part of the game, but we all enjoyed the trivia more than the challenges, and we agreed that the next time we try it, we’ll make a house rule that we only do a challenge if we end a trivia-question run on a challenge spot and *can’t* get the next question—as it stands, the rules have you stopping to do a “challenge” every time you land on a challenge spot and it was just….annoying!! Maybe we’d just be better suited to a straight-up trivia game, but again, I got this bc I hoped our younger chicks could participate more. Many challenges were also worded in ways that had to be reread and repeated multiple times…. I think the game is worth trying but we’ll just tweak it for our own enjoyment!

Age range incorrect- trivia too tough for 6 yr old
The premise of the game is cute and the challenges are fun. However, it is advertised as being for ages 6 and up, and the trivia questions were way too difficult for the younger side. My 7 year old was incredibly frustrated at the questions (for example, "what organ works with the heart to provide oxygen to the body," "what does the statue of liberty hold in her right hand," "name the three branches of government.") I would estimate those questions are more appropriate for upper elementary school and above. Also, the questions for the parents are too easy, so the balance was way off.
