So you have fancy wine glasses, right? Why not beer glasses. I purchased this set and know have two sets. Spiegelau has done research with leading craft breweries to determine an optimal glass for IPAs, Stouts, and Wheats. Just google and you will see. These glasses are as fine a glass as your wine glasses. They really do help to allow you to get the aroma with your sip. Pros: Well Designed glasses Wife Like them better than a "beer mug" at dinner. Dishwasher safe, but be away that dishwasher soap will kill any head retention when you pour a beer. Highly recommend hand washing. Cons: I did have issues with shipping, as I never received a single package(2 failed tries) until the last one that had all 4 glasses in tack. ***Be careful opening up the box. If you hear lose glass, call amazon right away*** The glass is fragile. As a buddy of my says, not for a rowdy bunch of people. If you enjoy craft beer, then have make sure you are pouring it into to correct glass. Other wise, throw out your wine glasses and just use solo cups. They are thinner than I would have expected, and they do feel fairly delicate, however they are also well made and are a must have for any beer lover. It's hard to justify the price however. -Update- I decided to add an extra star to my original review. Yes the price is steep and the glassware is thin, but once you start using the high quality Spiegelau glasses you simply can't go back. worth the investment ... show more

These are so cute ! I really wanted to love them but one broke as soon as I took it out of the box! These are super thin, so be extra careful handling them!! This is an update : wow ! Amazing customer service! They have sent me a replacement which i greatly appreciated! Thank you. If you order these , please be very careful cleaning them . They are very fragile . Let's get something out of the way from the beginning: In my experience, these glasses don't make a massive difference in the taste of beer. You don't need to have these glasses to enjoy what you're drinking. With that said, you can notice the difference - especially with the IPA and wheat glasses, which are my favorites. In my judgment, those are the two that produce the most noticeable change; the IPA glass releases a lot of carbonation due to its ridges and the wheat glass collects huge aromas, reminiscent of a nice burgundy glass. This isn't a knock on the stout or barrel-aged glasses - they both enhance their respective beers - but I don't think it's as noticeable. They're all more fun than pouring your beer into the same straight-sided glass, though, and it's really fun to elevate your drink the same way you would a nice wine or cognac. In terms of quality, you need to understand that you're getting into nice crystal glassware, which is going to be thinner and frankly less durable than a pub glass, or even a thicker snifter or Teku; the tradeoff is that it feels great in the hand and causes less of a temperature change when pouring the drink. In terms of wine glasses, more like a Riedel and less like a Libbey. I'd recommend putting these in the dishwasher if you're able, since some of the crevasses are impossible to clean well by hand and (if you're like me) you're clumsier than your dishwasher anyway. On a separate note, my glasses came with some small imperfections in the glasswork. They're difficult to notice from a distance, and given the typical price for thin crystal glasses, I can't complain too much. My honest recommendation if you're a lighter beer drinker is to get a Teku or snifter-style glass, since they're more durable and cost less and work with a variety of beer styles. However, if you're a beer geek, I don't think these can be beaten. ... show more

These glasses are great. I tried the IPA glass and I could actually sense the difference. Can't wait to try the rest. They do feel kinda delicate. Have to be careful while handling them.

The glasses look plain but functional and very thin and light. Be very careful with them. I was drying my IPA glass with a dish cloth when it shattered in my hands. Glass went everywhere. I am thankful that no one was injured.

I’ve had these for a few weeks. The good news is that they do seem to make the beer taste better. The bad news is that these things are as frail, as the incandescent lightbulbs, we used when I was a kid. The first time these slip out of my hand, while washing them, they’re going to be in pieces.
