They put in a regular American plug but make it so it runs on 220v. They told me it would work fine in my 120v outlet before I bought it, but actually you have to buy a transformer for like $100 to get it to work. It stopped working after just a few months and they refused to give me a refund so I went thru Amazon and got one. The customer service from this company is terrible.     • All around great quality light. Minor negatives on it.
So I get why people do give it a one star review. The one thing spider farms missed is the plug in. It’s a normal 120v and needs a 240v. So you do need 240v. But you should be running 240v already. People believes it’s to save power consumption on the light. That is incorrect. You save power consumption by it running less amps on two legs which produces less heat and some say less wear and tear on start up. But i have one of these running next to the 7000 that pull 650w and this light has bigger flowers already in week 3. Do not buy a transformer and convert 120 to 240v like the guy in the other review. It will burn up your digital ballast. You need to have a dedicated 240v circuit for the light. ... show more

    • Decent light but lies
The par map shown for this product is about 1500 in the middle at max power.... No it's 1500.. it's only 1050 max at the center at 8 inches. At 6 1/2 inches it's 1180 par. The light came with all this fuzzy stuff all over it. Like it was rush/poorly made. Lots of the little screws is screw in at an angle. Lots of the red diodes seem poor quality. It over pull the watts. The driver only rated for 730 but it pulls about 745-750. So it's a possible fire hazard. The par gain from 515 watts to 740ish watts is tiny. At 515 watts at 7inches off the top. The avg par is 980. At 740 watts it's 1180. So I don't see it worth running the max watts for such a little gain. Their customer service game is weak. Returned both of my SE7000 for One Mars Hydro FC8000 and a light mover. Mars Hydro light quality is clean. Design is slick and it pulls 803 watts as advertised. Par at max power at 8inch is 1420ish par which is close to their advertise par map. ( Not exact as shown on their par map ... What's new? Every company advertised their par higher than it actually is ) if ran at 550-600watts the par is 1010 at 8 inches which is all you need a little CO2 or turn it down to 500 and u get like 900-950 Par. So go Mars Hydro y'all. ... show more

I was soooo excited to get this light. I already have 2 of the se7000's and they are great! I'm a big spider farmer fan and I was excited to see what this light can do. Got it, set it up, hung it, turned it on and it doesn't work!!!! Waiting to see what they are going to do about this. Will update! UPDATE!!!!!!! If you purchase this light you need to have an electrician run a 220v line or do what I did and get a 110v to 220v transformer. This light is beautiful 😍 can't wait to see what it does! And remember......this is the SE1000 ... show more
