As an amateur mechanic, who does not have welding equipment, I would prefer to patch up holes that rust through in my exhaust system and then it's good for another couple of years. A piece of pipe or adapter, and a band clamp does the trick. Every muffler shop I go to says they don't do patch jobs, and they won't give me a weld; they always want to replace the whole system! Nowadays, there are no more junkyards, and no more vocational schools. unless you carefully plan and perfectly install the exhaust part that this connector clamps , you will experience exhausts leaks . you have to seal , 100% the parts that this clamp connects . If you do not , it will leak exhaust ; period . The design leaves a gap, where exhaust pressure leaks just above the bolts and unless one overlaps the pipes that your clamping , this will leak. ... show more

Great product and will buy again if needed. During the install I had to take them apart and slid my finger across the stainless steel side and cut it pretty deep, this is of course my fault but want other to be aware. Installation was easy and really strengthened my exhaust repair. A+++

    • Decent product but confirm piping size before you buy

This clamp is not actually for a 2.25 pipe. When people talk about exhaust piping sizes they're referring to the inner diameter of the pipe, not the outer diameter. These clamps are designed for use with 2.25 outer diameter pipe which would be about 2.1 inner diameter. If you're trying to get clamps to put a common 2.25 muffler in a 2.25 exhaust system without welding you actually need a set of 2.5 inch clamps due to the width of the pipe metal. These types of clamps work well when paired with some high heat sealant like copper rtv. I've used them before with good results. ... show more

I installed a direct fit muffler for my 2013 Ram 1500. I used the Exhaust Clamp Bands to connect to the main exhaust & the tailpipes to the muffler. It gave enough coverage to prevent an exhaust leak. I’ve had them on going on 2 months- so far so good! They were easy to install with the included hardware. The edges are sharp so I suggest gloves to be worn while installing. ... show more

    • Good product, buy more wrap.
The product itself was fine and a great value for the money. I ordered this with the express reason of needing the thermal wrap too to help seal the exhaust. I ordered this one because it has two sleeve clams the wrap and gloves(which I already have) however they only give you enough wrap for one clamp. I purposely order a little larger to accommodate the wrap. Needless to say I had to buy more wrap. I first also sealed the joint with high heat JB weld then wrapped the joint on both exhaust pipes. This shored up my exhaust leak instantly and has not been a problem since. If you need this for dual exhaust buy more wrap with your order as it is extremely frustrating to have to stop and go to the parts store while the car is up to finish the job. I also recommend the high heat jb weld as this mss as y be overkill but it definitely does the job in combination with the wrap and sleeve clamp. ... show more

This product... i’m not sure if they make better or other things but this clamp. Did little more than just hold to exhaust pieces together. On my car it caused it to have an exhaust leak on both ends of the clamp. I so disappointed. I wish i could send the product back. But its holding my Catalytic converter Up. ... show more

I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money on these pipe clamps, but I am glad I bought them. They were perfect for joining two pipes together on my exhaust system. For my application I bought a piece of 1 3/4 OD pipe I cut to four inches to slip into the flared end of my cat converter. More than two inches stuck out of the converter pipe that allowed me to slip a flexible exhaust pipe with an inside diameter of 1 3/4 over the top of the cut pipe. The outside diameter of the flexible pipe was the same diameter as the flared end of the other pipe. Used the clamp to join them together. Did the same thing on the other end of the flexible pipe.
