Exactly like the one I used in school many years ago, glad they still make them with high-quality in mind! Extremely easy to use and cuts like butter. If you're carving with an X-Acto Knife I recommend treating yourself with this tool without hesitation. Only downside is it hurts my hand to use for longer than a few hours but so does writing and painting so I don't hold it accountable. I tried wrapping it to make it thicker and easier to grip but the tool is too slippery to stay on lol ... show more

has a perfect variety of tools, efficiently stored. a little bit too easy to lose the attachments, i think i might be missing one i started with. good size, shape, etc. all around pretty good!

I bought this to carve a linoleum block for printing. I had purchased a non-Speedball cutter from an art supply store, and the tips were loose and impossible to control for a clear cut. This cutter is sturdy, the tips are firm, and they are easy to switch out. You can store any tips you are not using inside the handle, which is very handy indeed.
