Assembly was fairly easy--If you've assembled Ikea furniture before, this should be a breeze. There were a couple of broken or bent pieces screws/bolts that made things a little tricky but given that this isn't meant to be hugely load-bearing, it came together well enough. It would have been nice if they'd included some extra pieces in the bags. Overall the product wasn't perfect--the paint was chipped in many places and the fiberboard would chip or split easily (especially when nailing in the back panel--it might be easier to use a staple gun for this if you have it), but for a small kid's bedroom, it was fine. ... show more

We ordered two of these beds for my 18-year-old twins. It took them most of the day to put them both together and they are carpenters. They like the beds a lot it’s nice that they do not need a boxspring. The only downfall is the smell of the wood is almost overpowering. If they keep their door closed for a while and then open it you can really smell a strong wood smell coming from their bedroom. And the downfall is they won’t even keep their clothes in the drawers because they smell so badly of wood when they put them on. We’ve even tried leaving the drawers open to air them out. At first it smells really good because it smells like fresh wood. After a while it really starts to get to you. Other than that we are very happy with the purchase. ... show more

    • Photo is misleading, but headboard seems to be just fine.

I bought this headboard with the matching bed for myself. From the photo, it appears the headboard should attach to the bed with screws through two wooden strips attached to the inside of the "legs" (which would give it some added stability as well), however, there are just two plastic brackets which attach to the inside of the legs and one screw through each into the bed. Then two screws go through the long front panel into the bed also. So there are only four screws holding it on the bed. This was a disappointment, however, I am satisfied with the headboard. I guess I expect promotional photos of a product to be accurate representations, and there is my only complaint. Assembly was not difficult at all, and though the instructions call for two people to do the job, I did it alone with no trouble. It had been well over thirty years since I had assembled any kind of furniture, so the hardware was strange to me, but it does the job well if you follow the instructions carefully. All-in-all, it took me about an hour to assemble. I am paraplegic, did the job sitting in my wheelchair, so it should be quite easy for any able-bodied adult to assemble. The headboard has ample space for clock and radio, as well as a few books and other things, and it looks nice once attached to the bed and put in place. Highly recommended by me. ... show more

I like this headboard for my son's twin bed. The price was reasonable and it's the perfect size we were looking for (not too big or bulky). My teenage son put it together in about an hour. We didn't have to attach it to the bed, it just holds up against the wall and the bed frame/mattress are next to it. A front accent-piece was broken so I contacted the company. They immediately responded and sent out a new one. Very happy with this order and will be buying another from this company ... show more
