I have an Amazon Fire Insignia Smart TV. At first the sound was good, but I had to keep it a12 because over that was waaay too loud. All of a sudden, one night the volume just went down, and I had to put it on 70 just to hear it regularly so there was no real ability to raise the volume. I had a surround sound system in my living room and remembered that for it to work with the TV, without an echo, I had to turn the TV volume down and just use the receiver for the surround system. After checking with my son, I concluded that a sound bar should do the same thing and decided that purchasing one for the bedroom TV would be a lot less expensive than buying a new TV, or trying to get this one fixed. I didn't want to break the bank, and I only needed a sound bar that would allow me to hear the TV, but I'm not very tech savvy so I went to my normal electronic expert, Google. It told me all about sound bars, and again, I concluded, that I only needed a small bar. I also concluded that it would be easier for me if I made sure that it had an HDMI ARC for hook up, because it would be plug and play, and by just reading, I already understood everything about hooking it up (which was great because I don't like complicated things). This arrived yesterday, and I'm already in love. It has true volume control so I can adjust the volume correctly, it works with my TV remote so I can keep the sound bar remote in my drawer, and the power light is on top and not very bright at all, so it doesn't add light to the room. I am beyond pleased with this purchase. The sound bar even says HDMI when I turn the TV on, and power off when I turn the TV off so I automatically know that the unit switched off when I turn off the television. If you're just looking for something to raise the volume on your TV, and don't want to spend a million dollars on it, this is a nice little sound bar. It's small so it doesn't take up much space, and the sound is lovely. The only complaint I have is that the power cord supplied with it is barely 3 foot long, if that. No matter how close to the edge of the tall dresser I moved it, the plug still didn't reach the wall socket which is standard in height from the floor, the tall dresser also being standard in height. It's not a big deal as I have all of my electronics plugged into surge protectors, but I thought it beared mentioning. Yes, by all means, purchase this sound bar if you just need a small one, but don't forget the HDMI cord if you plan on hooking it up that way, and an extension cord or surge protector to help it reach the wall socket. ... show more

For the price this is a good sound bar. Not amazing but very good. The tv speakers were horrible with a hollow echo sound. This sound bar has a much better sound than the tv speakers and perfect for a TV in the bedroom as we didn't need home theater sound in the bedroom. Very happy with the product.

The tv itself has better sound quality. No discernible bass at all. Very faint hollow mediocre sound. I should have known… you get what you pay for. Return!

    • Voice assist is very loud and cannot be disabled.

The soundbar works fine for my purposes. I am sure the sound quality will not be up to the standards of those seeking surround sound but all I need this for is to have a speaker in front of my TV. TV's speakers are in the back and I have trouble hearing dialogue. I would like to disable the Voice Assist feature on this soundbar but have not found a way to do so. At the very least, there should be a way to turn the volume down. I expect that before long I will get complaints from my neighbor across the hall that the soundbar voice wakes her up at 2AM when it screams "power off." I contacted Amazon tech support for help disabling the voice alerts but nothing we tried worked. I will eventually have to find a replacement for this unit. I'm holding on to it for now but if I have complaints lodged against me, I will have no choice but to spring for something else. The compact size is great and it works well with my TV remote. I also like that it has HDMI-ARC connection. This might be a good speaker for someone not living in an apartment. ... show more
