I thought it would be a bit bigger, but otherwise from that it is an awesome drone. For something that size, it handles the air pretty well. My son learned to use the remote in a few miuntes. It does take a while to learn to flly the drone, but it is very balanced and the instructions are very good and easy to understand. Plus the app comes with videos that can teach you how to fly the drone. I think everyone should be aware though that without the app on a device, you cannot use the camera on the drone. And when you connect the drone's wifi to your device, it shuts off your regular wifi. It's good for money. Pretty sturdy too. My son loves it. ... show more

This was my first experience with a drone. I was in the air in about one hour after the battery was charged - not bad! There is a Quick Start guide that gets you mostly there; the User Manual has more detail on final setup, control and the photography aspect. Being new to controlling a drone like this, I found controlling the drone taking all my attention before even thinking about the photography. I started using this device in a living room because I didn't want to lose it or deal with wind. I did run into the walls a few times as a novice user, but thankfully the included propeller guards prevented any damage. I'm glad there is an extra set of blades as I imagine I'll be needing them sooner or later as I use this. The app installed on my phone quickly and I had no problem getting camera shots right away. Low-light indoor conditions were not ideal for the camera but using it in out-door daylight conditions are better, which is where you are normally going to use this. I like that there are two batteries, so you can swap one out and charge it while using the other one. One thing I haven't noticed yet is a way of having the thing hover in place automatically so that you can focus on taking photos/video. I also haven't noticed a "follow" mode that will automatically follow me as I walk around. These functions may exist though as there is a lot of fine detail I have yet to digest in the manual. I have only used the manual control module for directional control so far; a smart phone is required to access the photography aspect. There is a way of using the phone app to control everything on the drone (both directional and photography). I like to keep the directional control and photography separate so I don't accidentally mess up the directional control while working with the images. The hand held control module does use three AAA batteries, so one advantage of using the smart phone as the controller+photography combined is you don't have to have those batteries handy. My initial impression is that this is a functional device at a good price point and I look forward to using the device more. ... show more

Got this for my son for Christmas. He has been playing with it for a couple days now. It has got stuck in a tree, hit a fence multiple times and crashed to the ground. (User error) it is still in great shape not a mark on it!! Camera works good too!! Highly recommend for beginner drone!

Drones are much fun and you don't have to spend a fortune to get that fun. This little guy is a great blend of fun, function, and learning. Set up goes about the same as any other, If you use the remote and forgo the app you load a charged battery, put batteries in the remote, turn the drone on, and pair it up to the remote and you're ready to go. Auto take-off works well, however like others have mentioned the trim can be a pain, especially outdoors. You may have it dialed in, go to launch, and all of a sudden you have a drift one way or the other, probably because you trimmed it with a slight breeze you couldn't feel. Just be aware that you'll need to adjust the trim quite often. flight speed is good and it can really get going on max speed. There isn't any object avoidance so make sure there isn't anything that you can smack into. The controls work well and once you've got the hang of it you'll be zipping around the park or backyard in no time. The app works pretty well as well, however, since there is some lag I always suggest using the remote instead of the on-screen controls to fly the drone. ... show more

I have a couple of larger drones H10 series etc so this is the first tiny drone I have ordered that isn't just a novelty. This thing works well and flys well. I haven't had it outside yet but it's small and controllable enough for indoor use with a bit of practice. Don't use auto take off inside though, I learned fast that it immediately tries to get up to it's programmed height and it gets there fast. Use left control knob down and left and right thumb control down and right to start propellers in a low speed so it only goes up to fly on your control of the left thumb throttle. Again, great little tool, I am wondering why they say for "kids" on the box, maybe it doesn't have the distance? I am not sure but it comes with two batteries and they last a long time. Quick charge with good cables and change easy. Comes with beautiful hard case for carrying and works right out of the box after a charge. Just unfold, turn on the drone, turn on the controller, pair them (left thumb button forward then back) then set the gyro sensor (left thumb down and right, right thumb control down and left). Start drone as noted above, and you are off. Like all drones, the blade guards fly everywhere when you crash, I wish someone would fix that but yeah, well worth the money. Honestly I haven't tried the cameras yet but if the rest of the drone is a tell, it should work as advertised. Five stars for the price. ... show more
