I am so happy I pushed the boat out and got these shoes. Living in Idaho and keeping your feet warm and not slipping is HUGE! The soles are really grippy and although I haven't slid yet I feel very confident the tread on the soles of these shoes will keep me from slipping and falling. That was the main reason I bought these shoes. After lots of research I bought this shoe as it's made for Idaho cold, snowy, icy weather. They are warm and super comfortable out of the box. Yes they are expensive at least for me but well worth the money. I love the style and green color. Every detail is high end and very well made even down to the shoe laces. I'm so happy with these wonderful shoes, I wish I could afford to buy another pair just to have them on hand in case they stop making them. I am glad I sized up 1/2 size from my normal shoe size as they are perfect with a thick sock. The lining is really soft and cozy so if you don't need these shoes in freezing weather you could just get your normal size, wear a thin sock and not have to allow for thick socks and you'd be very comfortable. I love my Sorel boots and here’s why: In winter, we get cold temperatures or rain. No ice or snow. An ankle boot like the Sorel Tivoli is all I need. The fur (black) or sheep skin (tan) keeps my feet warm, the duck trim keeps them dry, and the soles prevent slipping on wet or muddy surfaces. When we go up to Lake Tahoe for ski season, everyone wears a tall, snow boot because the snow levels are high. I wear my tall, Ugg boots because my vintage pair are still the cuddliest shoe ever. The fashionistas wear Sorel’s Joan of Arctic boot. When we get a massive rain, I pull out my Hunter wellies because the land around the house can get very wet and muddy. Rubber boots always keep feet dry against water and they’re easy to wash mud off of. Hunter also makes a fleece sock with their wellies turning a rain boot into a snow boot. Had I known, I wouldn’t have bought snow boots. Hunter is a classic brand but Le Chameau is swiftly gaining fans. When we go into San Fran, I need a stylish shoe for the city and functional against the rain. I wear Aquatalia waterproof boots. Otherwise, heavy rain will turn regular shoes into a soggy mess or ruin designer shoes. I hope this info is helpful :) ... show more

I have to say, I was not too sure about these boots when I first put them on. I walked around the house a few hours and at first the right foot felt like the inside of the shoe was not made right (under the ball of my foot). Then I walked around the house again the second day for a few hours and the left foot felt narrow. I thought this was odd, so I wore them again and the third time I loved them. I did get a size 6.5 (a half size bigger) because Sorel's website says to size up a full size however, with the micro-fleece lining that will just lay/mat down as you wear the boots more, the boots will get more loose on you. The boots fit great with boot socks. I would say sizing up a half size or full size would depend on the width or your foot and the thickness of the socks you will be wearing. They will be a little tight at first, but will loosen up. I love them, they are so warm and I live in a northern state. ... show more

This boot seems like it will serve me well. My only issue with it is that the suede leather and rubber are 3 different shades of tan. I was under the impression it was only 2 (the sole and actual shoe part) I will likely order the black instead. It seems comfortable enough, I may add an insert at the toe area for additional comfort and get thicker winter socks to fill up the shoe. I purchased the curry color, I'm a 6 1/2 and usually have a difficult time purchasing shoes if it's not a brand that I am familiar with, so it's rather hard to decide on what size to purchase, I read reviews on Amazon, which at the time there was only one, it didn't state anything about size-wise, so I had to go off the Amazon website and look on too many other websites that offer the same shoe to read the reviews there in doing so, I was able to decide on the perfect size for me to order, all stated that these shoes run a little small, I purchased the seven and a half I went one size up from my usual size and it is the perfect size for me I can still wear a thick sock and will feel comfortable ... show more

These boots are incredibly comfortable, however, the foot bed is flat so it needs a good supportive insert. I usually wear a 10, bought a 10.5, and it was a little narrow even with a thin sock. I ended up sending them back and got size 11. The 11 is perfect for my foot which is slightly narrow. My problem was that my bunion rubbed on the 10.5. I put a good supportive insert into the 11 and it fits wonderfully with a thicker sock if I want it. ... show more

They look nice, and they keep my feet warm, but the pros end there. For an expensive shoe it has very little arch support, and your feet get sore from wearing them for any extended period of time, especially when walking. Also the tread is really crappy! For a shoe made for cold and inclement weather you'd think it would have good traction, but it definitely does not. I needed something during this never-ending winter, and they did the trick, but I would not recommend them or buy them again. ... show more

I like these boots because they can be dressed up or down. They compliment many outfits no matter where you’re going and give me an elegant look. They are easy to put on and take off. I have had no issues with discomfort when wearing the boots. I feel like they fit true to size. I wear 7.5 and ordered 7.5 and fit perfect with any sock thick or thin. I sprayed mine with boot spray to help them stay looking 100% longer! The waterproof boot has worked well during snow for me!
