I bought these to replace the pair of Sorel winter boots that I bought in 1992. They are good quality, well-made, and warm. These are a bit stiff but I’m sure they will break in as I use them this winter. The only reason I even needed to replace the boots I bought in 1992 is because I wear a slightly larger size now than I did then (which is normal over 30 years). I bought these boots for a trip to Fairbanks, Alaska in the end of February. This was my third try to find a pair of boots that would keep my feet warm in sub-zero temperatures while standing outside watching the Arora Borealis in the middle of the night. These boots are the best; with a roomy toe box that allowed me to wear 3 pair of socks without cramping my feet and I was warm and dry for the whole trip. I was concerned, at first because they are so heavy and roomy, but they never hindered me when I walked around in the snow at the International Ice Carving Championships, and they were comfortable with just one pair of thick socks (during the day). The Sorel Women’s Caribou Boots that I ordered from Amazon.com have turned out to be an excellent product that I’ve been very satisfied with. I ordered these boots in November and have been wearing them all winter. They have worked out extremely well for me, especially with all of the snow. These boots would be ideal for you if you are someone who lives in a location that has snowy winters, and has a need for boots to protect their feet while walking on snow or ice. These boots are extremely warm and do an excellent job of protecting your feet in extremely cold temperatures. They are water resistant and insulated, so they are the perfect winter boots to keep your feet warm and dry. Although the insulation make the boots a little heavier that regular uninsulated boots, they are still extremely manageable. The little bit of extra weight in the boots is worth the extra protection and warmth that your feet will get. They have significant traction on their soles that will prevent you from slipping or losing your balance when walking on ice or snow. Compared to most other boots, the Sorel Caribou boots do a much better job at providing traction on slippery surfaces. The boots are also a neutral color and are therefore very versatile for your wardrobe. Not only are they extremely functional, but the Sorel boots are stylish as well. They would make a great addition to your wardrobe as both an attractive pair of boots and practical winter footwear. The Sorel Company is extremely reliable and trustworthy. Wow do these boots keep my feet warm. I’d say they are true to size. I bought them for walking our dog during the very snowy winters in northern Michigan, and while they are extremely warm, they are also very very very heavy. Better suited for short trips outside than long walks.

I bought these boots a week ago. NY and the Tri-state area have been hit hard with heavy snow. I bought these boots to replace my North Face Boots that fell apart. I am a size 9 shoe, but I buy my winter boots a 1/2 size larger for layering purposes. Since these boots do not come in 1/2 sizes, I ordered them in a size 10. I have plenty of room in these boots. They are rated to keep your feet warm in -40 degree below zero weather and to date, my feet are nice and toasty. I tend to have cold feet, so the higher the rating in warmth the better. If you do not like to have room in your winter boots, stick with your normal size. They are large boots and a size 10 looks like a 12 (ha, ha, ha), but they are the BEST boots for this weather. They have good traction and grip on icy surfaces. I walked through a deep water puddles and slush holes and my feet did not get wet! It took me 15 mins. to get used to the weight and size, but I LOVE THEM! if you are one who lives in a very snowy/wet environment and need a boot that is warm, sturdy and waterproof....these are the ones for you! ... show more

Heading into my second winter with these Caribou boots and I love them. Prone to cold feet, these lined boots have so far kept my toes warm in snow and slush. That being said, I canceled my Amazon order of these when I found they were far less expensive on the Sorel site. Wish I could find a pair for my dog so we could hike longer! These boots have beaten LL Bean similar ones and the many unmentionable ones from before. Simply put: the BEST! ... show more

Was searching for winter boots that are were made well and comfortable. These are not like those out at regular stores, i.e. lightweight. They are nicely balanced, comfortable, room for one's foot, i.e. not cramped. The one comment I do have is, although the laces were appropriate for the boot size I ordered, they weren't long for me to double knot them so will order larger laces. Would recommend, however, have not truly tested them during inclement weather so will provide an update (if required). ... show more

Ordered just before the ice storm that hit Nashville and I'm so glad I did! They kept my feet dry and are super comfortable, plus very little slipping in the ice so that's a big bonus. I read reviews that said they big so order a size down but I'm glad I didn't because they fit like a dream.
