Great boots! Very comfortable. Easy to slip on and off. I plow snow on Kansas roads during winter. I’m in and out of the truck often so I walk thru snow, slush and mud. These boots do just fine in these conditions. My feet stay warm and dry. If I was in colder conditions I’d get them with more insulation but for Kansas these are perfect. I got the boots yesterday. They fit well and were very comfortable. Today it was a -5 wind chill. My feet were warm when I walked the dogs. I will return in a year to let you know if the boots lasted through the year. If so, these are great.

    • High quality and WARM for all day hiking in the snow

These boots are beautifully made, high quality, and lightweight. I bought these to attend WRC Rally Sweden, based in Umeå. The event happens in February and temperatures were -15° at night and around -6° Celsius during the day. I hiked over 105,000 steps in four days with these while dragging or carrying 40 kg of camera equipment. I worked in snow varying from ankle-deep to waist-deep all day and my feet never got cold. Pro tip: Swedes stand on a slab of polystyrene if they’re going to be stationary for a while, which helps prevent cold from creeping through the soles. My trousers covered the boot tops to prevent snow ingress, but even when some got in, even though my socks got damp my feet were still warm due to the thick, soft padding. I bought the size that matches my shoes which left a bit of toe room for thick socks. Ice traction is about average, but in Sweden you can get your shoes modified with small studs if you need more grip. I used slip-on studded crampons for one day and then decided the boots were grippy enough. ... show more

You need to order at least a half size larger than normal to accommodate heavy socks. I tried and It can accomodate two pair for me. Very sturdy with very good ankle support. The inside is padded. As for warmth, I will be going to Norway next month and will find out. It has a deep tread on the sole. Looks like It will give very good foot protection and footage in the snow. It will fit over jeans but they will end up being wet. The laces allow for size adjustment. I love them so much that I hate to take them off. Note-It seems like the prices fluctuate a lot on Amazon. The pair that I purchased went back and forth between $75 and $110 so you can monitor that. ... show more

I have used sorel boots for 30 plus years in the northwest for work in the oil fields fighting rain mud and snow on average my boots last anywhere from 3 to 5 years with light duty work use daily this is the first time I have has a pair of sorels fail in this manner from simply bending over and picking up a hose. I am very disappointed in this particular boot because it started out so well. However, over time the sole thinned out to fast compared to other sorel boots I have owned this boot in no way meets any kind of workload for daily use I suppose if you wear a couch Potatoe who did basically nothing but tv and bathroom runs you would be just fine for about 1.5 years before they failed in this manner. Today I filed a complaint with the sorel corporation about this failure. I see this failure as not normal at all the glued seem failed from the inside out. the boots overall are still in very good shape just a little muddy from use around our small farm. ... show more
