This is a beautiful violin, the wood is smooth and finished well. The color is a lovely deep wood color. It appears to be built well, the pegs fit good and turn easily. The strings are installed correctly, everything looks beautiful. It comes with a zippered carrying case, the outer covering is a nylon type fabric, and it has a hard shell underneath the fabric. It looks to be well made, the zipper works good, etc. The accessories that come with it are: rosin, shoulder rest, extra strings, electric tuner (batteries included,) finger guide sticker, and bow. You do have to install the bridge as well. The bow hasn't been perfect, it seems like the bow itself works well, it tightens and loosens easily, and feels solid. But the hairs keep coming loose, I have had 4 break off from the base, and I have to take them off from the top. After tuning, making sure the bow was tightened correctly and rosined up, the sound is beautiful. This is by no means a professional violin, but it is a great beginner violin. It all feels very solid and should hold up for beginners. The price is also very beginner friendly. I would like to give this a 4.5 star rating, because of the bow losing it's hairs, so keep that in mind.

I'm no violin expert. At this price it's a great deal. Nice case, all the accessories you need to get started. The main problem far for me has been getting it to hold tune. As a guitar player I'm not used to friction fit tuning pegs so maybe I just need to learn how to use them. Also the rosin is hard so will need to be heated or something to be able to rosin the bow.

For a complete newbie who isn't super serious and is more interested in giving it a try to see if it's for them this is a great starting point on a budget. You are not getting a pro quality tool you are getting a cheap quality instrument. It will play perfectly fine for someone to learn on and sound good enough for you to hone your skill that can transfer to the real thing. Very light weight material and you might need to visit a shop to get the peg installed right (and laughed at a bit) but otherwise it's pretty simple to setup and use and it's true to size. A+ don't expect the real thing but what you get is a great starting point for a curious adult or child.

This clearly isn't a high quality violin, but it should do for beginners just wanting to learn and get used to the instrument. The wood is lighter in weight than my other violin, which is also on the lower end of the price range. But it does come with all the basics you need to get started, including a case that's durable enough to properly protect the violin. If you catch this one at the right price, I'd say it's a fair enough value for those starting out.

I was excited to receive this violin as it looked like a complete package with everything needed to get started, but my enthusiasm quickly faded during setup. The E string snapped while I was tuning it for the first time, which was frustrating enough, but then I noticed the bow had several broken horsehairs right out of the box. The case and accessories seem decent, and the violin itself appears well-constructed visually, but it's essentially unplayable in its current condition. For the price point, I expected better quality control before shipping. The only thing that kept it from a 1-star was the tuner and various other extras being included.

This is a great set for a beginner like me. I’d always wanted to try to learn to play the violin but honestly did not want to invest much money as I wasn’t sure how I’d do. This violin set is the perfect starter step because it includes all the basics you need. Now for people who are more experienced, they may be able to point out things that I’m not yet noticing. But everything included is of good enough quality for me to learn on.
And I’m glad it came with a case as well. It just includes everything you or someone you’re giving it to as a gift would need to get started without investing a ton of money. Now to get my partner some earplugs. Perhaps that’s the only extra thing they could have included to make it a truly complete set!

I really like that this set includes everything needed to begin learning the violin. The violin does not come ready to play. The bridge has to be installed, the strings tightened and tuned, and the rosin needs applied to the bow. There are no directions included, so some may need help or videos to develop the skills necessary for set-up. Once ready to play the quality and sound are good for this price point. The case is a great quality, and keeps the instrument and accessories safe and secure. Violin size goes by arm length, so it's important to not that this 4/4 violin would be an appropriate size for individuals with an arm length of 23". This sizes is ideal for the adverage teen to adult. Overall, this is a nice option for beginners on a budget, who are looking for an introductory violin.

This violin, to a complete beginner, sounds and plays beautifully for such a low priced instrument. I wanted this violin because I am fairly musically inclined and want to give it a shot. The primary reason I want to learn to play the violin is so I can record my own strings and just layer them. I believe that this instrument is the perfect starting point. It comes with everything you need to get started, and the hard shell case is such a welcome addition I might add. The bow and the bridge both seem like they are of decent quality, although once again, I am only a beginner. I also love the fact that it comes with resin and a shoulder rest, not to mention a nice little lint free cleaning cloth. They even threw in a pair of white gloves for some reason. This is a fine instrument for learning, especially for the price. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who would like to try their hand at playing without investing much at all.
