This was a chore to put together. It came used. Which I knew I was doing. There were broken pieces on the poles which had to be PULLED Off with great strength and a hammer. There were missing pieces, I had to improvise. The screws were on the wrong ends. Lets just say it was harder to put together since I had to undo what the previous owner had done to it. Just be aware when buying something used. You might have a harder time with putting it together. I am happy with it now that its done.     • With the feet attached it is actually a lil wider than 12”

We measured out our space correctly but with the feet they add just a bit more than 12 inches. So I lowered the rating for that reason alone. I had exactly twelve inches of space. However removing the feet did allow it to fit in just a tight enough space that it does not need the wall anchors. So I am very glad I did not need to return it. I purchased this as a corner shelf in my room to hold a humidifier, and other items like that. It is perfect for my needs. The top shelf has my humidifier, a glade scent dispenser, and a small lamp. If you are looking for a corner shelf this could be exactly what you are looking for.
