I came back to my amazon account to look at the invoice to go back to the item to re-read the description. Because it is still trying to get to a full charge in indirect ish sunlight on a window ledge inside my house. I bought this bc it was $1/1,000mAh + a discount. So first of all, very sealed in the box. Nice. Description on box includes "Insurance underwriting quality assurance" Was that the beta test group? I bought this bc I live in Texas and I am afraid of another power outage because: they didn't fix the power grid. But we have lots of sun. Also, my mom doesn't understand that if there is a power outage (for days+) you need to not be constantly on your phone, especially when you can't call/text out for help bc there is no reception. That is the lived experience that now I want more solar batteries: but at a discount. So my bad I got thrown off by the business marketing aspect. First of all: VERY HEAVY. Was surprised. So maybe keep that in mind if you don't like heavy things or maybe are clumsy. It fits my whole hand. I am a bir concerned bc I have smaller hands and wrists this potential hand/wrist workout may become annoying in the future. I have a iphone 13 pro max and adjusting from that weight in my hand from an X was already a lot. That being said: you can use this for light weight training. Multipurpose? Flashlight is great. Double tap to turn on the flashlight. Double tap to turn off. When on a single tap dims the light Another tap is an sos flash? There is a usb cable included. You need to have an adapter: honestly most likely you have one SOMEWHERE. Manual included explains how to read the LED (on the opposite side of the power button). Manual also says "do not allow any liquid (sweat or drinking water) or foreign objects (fine dust or dirt particles) to enter the USB port or connector." So I need to be mindful if I am doing anything outside, which is likely where I will try to get the solar energy if I have an emergency/natural disaster situation. "Please do not use this product to charge other devices while it is charging, it may cause fire, internal battery leakage, electric shock, rupture or injury." I tend to use my other solar battery while it's charging so I have to make sure not to do that. "In case of thunderstorm conditions, do not charge this product or connected devices, which may cause electric shock due to lightning, if continued use may cause the battery to overheat, explode or catch fire." Do they mean do not charge this battery via an outlet during thunderstorms bc you could have some consequences if there is a surge? I am not sure how directly I need to put this in sunlight as I want to ensure it gets charge but not ruin this $38 battery. It's been a couple days and it is not up another bar on the LED, so I came back here to see what I was missing. So direct sunlight, but not on your dashboard in direct sunlight? My first solar battery I had no issues charging from the same window sill. I had ordered another one before this 50000mAh one and it was also struggling to get fully or at least beyond half charge so I returned it. I honestly feel like I NEEED a solar battery given the irresponsibility with the power grid so the marketing is honest if this is to be charged via usb and then solar as a back up option. I wish the primary use was solar. I may just return it in hopes to find a more reliable solar battery usb source where the focus is the solar power and the option is usb charging. Debating return because the return points are out of the way. UPDATE it is April 2023 and I did the review in August 2022 It still doesn't charge all the way up using solar. Have I tried doing it via usb? No. Because I BOUGHT THIS TO USE AS A SOLAR BATTERY. The return points were absolutely too far, so I kept it only because returning it was much more annoying. So it is a $38 windowsill accessory. And that was at a discount, btw. It is a bit heavy but keeps its charge for a long time, which is great. I took it on a trip recently knowing that there were going to be power outages. UNFORTUNATELY, it did not charge iphone or ipad with new USB C ports. It goes in but does not charge. 🤨 It was disappointing but my friend’s phone got charged so… So, I guess I will look to buy an adapter-so I can charge my devices when there are power outages or I go camping. ... show more

Im glad I purchased this before camping. I was able to charge phones, portable lights at all times. I was having trouble charging my daughter iPad Air table that came with USB C unsure why it didn’t want to charge and keep saying it was charging. Other than that it worked well and sun charged

    • Withstands unexpected kinetic energy

Left the device on top of my car (by mistake) and drove off. The device flew off my car and smashed into the street (~35mph) as a consequence. I found the device shortly after a search. It was still intact and functioning. Has some minor scratches on the panels and elsewhere. However it still seems to be working. Id give it a better review if it wasn’t for the false charger indicators when charging only via solar panels. The device seems to think it’s at full capacity, when I’m fact it’s not. Charging via USB bypasses that issue. Meaning, I believe the device can not get a full charge to 100% via solar (it thinks it does). USB Charging will charge the device to 100%. It’s not a big deal but it’s worth noting. ... show more

It works fine, but I only get a couple charges per fully charged. When I charge multiple devices the battery goes wacko and it begins to say 8 hours until fully charged on the phones and it just doesn’t charge the phones, in fact the opposite happens they lose charge as they charge. That was the biggest disappointment I had with this portable battery. If you have one device it will work just fine but if you have multiple devices to charge at one time, you might not like the results. ... show more
