  • Flip out for fun in the sun and for phone power
Color: Grey
This is a thick and weighty power bank but having the four panels is a nifty backup. The whole battery with the panels is approximately 2 inches in thickness so it is not ideal for carrying in your pocket but more an item to carry in a sling or backpack. We use for the boating trips and day drinking at our watering hole. The battery has a large capacity, a flashlight with a strobe function, and can be charged with a regular micro usb. The charging with cord can be charged in advance and will actually not require the solar panels but the since this battery can be solar charged that is the game changer with this bank. The solar panels have a faux leather back to keep them from scratching each other and they fold up nicely and stay put with an elastic strap. We flip out the panels and allow them to stay out in the sun on the deck of the boat. A full day of sun doesn’t move the needle in a sense of adding more bars to the charge indicator but does help in the event we were stranded and needed phone charging. ... show more

  • Get what you pay for
The 6w charging via solar is pretty slow going so it's mainly a portable charger with extreme emergency solar charging. Mainly usable with charging at home and taking it with you. The small solar panels have a lot of loose play when they are closed and locked with one side strapped down via a snap on a flexible cord. I would prefer to just buy an Anchor charger that is smaller and sturdier for the same capacity and price. Need a different solar solution for travel to the beach. ... show more

  • Handy when you are off the grid!
I bought this product specifically to use when I'm camping and hunting off grid. I was happy to see the orange color option, and chose it specifically for higher visibility. First impressions out of the box: It's a brute of a battery - charging options are either 4 Solar panels which unfold to capture the sun, a USB-C input, or Micro USB input. To charge your devices, there are two USB2 outputs. The flashlight is handy, though not a primary selling point for me. It has 3 modes - ON, S.O.S pattern, and rapid flashing. Regarding size, the published dimensions are: 6.1×3.35×1.37inch (Open: 14.3×3.3 inch), Weight: 560g/1.2lb. These are very accurate - the only discrepancy I measured was the long side at 6-3/16" (6.1875") and the weight as 567g - so I gave it 5 stars for honestly publishing specs. Directions are clear and easy enough to follow. The battery pack had about 25% charge when I received it, so I charged the battery pack on a wall charger after receiving it...it was still charging after 5 hours, and ultimately I went to bed. It was fully charged the next morning and had shut down charging when fully charged. Charging a device is easy. Just plug in and it starts automatically. My android phone was at 12%, and this pack charged it fully in about 2hr45min. This is 1 hour slower than on a wall charger, which usually takes 1hr40mins. When my phone was fully charged, I tested the battery pack - it showed 2 of the 4 indicator lights, approximating capacity over 50% but less than 75%. I took the battery pack outside and unfolded the solar panels in the sun. It begins charging immediately. I let it charge while I worked in the yard and it replenished the battery in about 5 hours. Overall, pleased with the price vs. performance of this unit. ... show more

  • I am obsessed with these!!!!
Color: Grey
I am obsessed with these things! Living in the midwest- we get storms that knock the power out a few times a year. No more needing to run the car while everyone fights over the chargers or trying to make sure everyone has flashlights! I've bought a couple different brands (both single panel and 4 panel) but so far I think this is my favorite 4 panel one. This on is heavier than others I have ordered- but it feels more solid & durable. I would be more comfortable with this one bouncing around in the back of a car or something. It also has a strap to keep it closed-- which is a HUGE plus in my opinion - I am not worried about it flopping open and the panels being damaged accidentally. I have used it nightly to charge my Samsung Note 9 and so far it is still on full power -- recharging itself naturally during the day using only the sunlight coming through the windows. *Your mileage may vary-- my phone is normally at 50% or greater when I go to bed and it is on while charging but not being used. Two design suggestions for the manufacturer... the first one isn't a deal breaker for me-- but it could be for others. The place where you can attach a tether is plastic and doesn't appear super solid- I would not recommend it for attaching to a backpack- if you plan on using it that way-- be careful-- I would worry it might break off. The second one might not even be possible-- but it would be super cool if there was a way to fold it so one panel is showing. I have a single panel one so it's not a big deal but it would be nice to be able to recharge it while out & about without the whole 4 panels extended. ... show more

  • A must have for outdoors people
Yes, we go outside to get away, but who wants to lose charge on their gps when they're on a boat, phone when at the beach and want to snap a photo of the biggest ever sandcastle, or on a multi day hike and need to check the weather? This has gone strong for weeks and it doesn't have to be a perfect sunny day to charge, though it does help. It's been to the beach, on inlets, and forests, and I've been very happy with it. I like that we can charge multiple devices at the same time as well. ... show more

  • Not all ports charge devices.
I purchased this for camping and hiking having the ability to charge via solar is great. however, I do find this device to be rather bulky and heavy. The USB-C charging port is only usable to charge the battery itself, plugging your phone or device into the USB-C port does nothing. Other than that, this does do the job of charging devices and can recharge via solar panels in a pinch. ... show more
