I just discovered Sol de Janeiro. Yes I’m a little late to the party, but I was so excited to be able to get this Cheirosa 62 jelly perfume balm after falling in love with the hair products and body spray. This jelly perfume balm is definitely on the small side. Absolutely a pocket/travel size balm coming in at 4 mL. It smells exactly like the other products of the same scent with vanilla, creamy pistachio, and salted caramel. Very summery and oh so good! The texture is nice and smooth not goopy or sticky. When applying for the first few times, you don’t even need to twist it out of the applicator. There’s already enough sticking out to apply it. Once it wears down, just twist it up, a very little bit, where it barely passes the top of tube and apply gently. There have been reports of it breaking easily, so I think this would be the safest way to use it. You then just swipe it on your wrists or your neck and you can smell it immediately. Using it on its own, I didn’t find the sent lasting all day, but layering it with the body mist helps so much and it’s the perfect size to take with you, so you can add a little more throughout the day. Sol de Janeiro products are kind of pricey and this one is no exception, especially for the size, but it just smells so good, so totally worth it, as long as you use it gently and it doesn’t break!

This is one of those products that immediately feels like a little luxury treat the second you open it - but also makes you do a double take at first. I've been waiting to try these perfume balms, and when I opened it, I genuinely laughed a little - it’s so tiny! But somehow that quickly turns into “okay wait…this is actually adorable.” The packaging is very on-brand...bright, playful, and color-coded to match the rest of the line - and it really does feel like a mini version of something you already love. For reference, I’m reviewing the 62 scent specifically, but I’ve tried all three (62, 68, and 40), and they’re all beautiful in their own way. The texture is really interesting. It glides onto the skin effortlessly with almost no pressure, and while it’s not waxy or greasy, it does have a slight tackiness to it. The best way I can describe it is a gel-like balm - it looks a bit like a colored gel deodorant. Once applied, it feels lightweight, but you’ll notice that subtle stickiness, especially if you’re used to sprays. Personally, I don’t mind it at all because of how well it performs. The scent is where it really shines. If you love 62, this is spot on. It smells identical to the mist and cream, which was a huge win for me. You can actually smell it the second you open the tube, and it has a noticeable presence right from the start. It smells like warm, sun-kissed skin after a perfect beach day - creamy, sweet, and just a little salty, like golden hour bottled up. It’s basically summer flirting with you - warm caramel, soft vanilla, and that sun-kissed glow that makes everything feel a little happier. It’s also incredibly practical. This is the kind of product you can throw in your purse and take anywhere without worrying about leaks or overspraying. It’s perfect for touch-ups, layering, or just wearing completely on its own. It layers beautifully with other scents too, especially within the same line, but it’s versatile enough to mix with gourmand, floral, or fresh fragrances. Because you only need the lightest swipe, it ends up lasting much longer than you’d expect. In that sense, the size starts to make a lot more sense. If I had to nitpick, the only real downsides are the slight stickiness and how easy it is to misplace something this small. But neither of those outweigh how well this performs. For the price, I actually think this is a great value. It feels like a luxury item, but one that’s practical enough to use every day. It’s also such a fun gift idea - perfect for stocking stuffers or as a small add-on for anyone who loves fragrance. Overall, I absolutely recommend it. It’s one of those universally loved scents that works across ages and styles, and it layers beautifully with just about anything. For me, it’s an easy repurchase - and honestly, one of those little things that just makes every day routines feel a bit more special!

If you’d told me a month ago that I’d feel privileged to be trying a new Sol de Janeiro product, I’d have laughed. Im an 39yo woman and I honestly associated the brand almost entirely with TikTok unboxings and kids at Sephora dragging their moms toward the display. And yet here we are. I saw people dismissing this on Reddit, which made me more curious. I get the skepticism, but they’re wrong. The format is actually clever. It looks like a little tube of jelly and has a firm gel texture that glides on without leaving any residue. For someone who loves the Cheirosa 62 scent but doesn’t want to commit to layering creams, oils, and sprays all over themselves, this is exactly the right thing. The scent is warm and tropical, pistachio and salted caramel on paper, but it wears more like a fruity, expensive-smelling sunscreen thing. It’s not immature, it’s not mature, and it sits somewhere in between in a way that’s hard to pull off. The smell stays close to the skin, not a room-filler. What surprised me was how long it lasted. I put it on before a full day hiking in desert heat, forgot about it entirely, and at some point on the trail caught a scent I couldn’t place. It was me. Hours later, after sweating through a hike in the sun. Some people report it disappearing fast and I can’t speak to that, but my experience was nothing like that. The size is small and I do wish it were bigger. That said, it’s the perfect thing to toss in a bag for a night out, and since a little goes a long way it’ll last longer than you’d expect. Also I’d highly suggest this for wearing to the gym if you’re someone that absolutely needs to wear a scent to the gym. This one won’t bother anyone else like your perfume does. Overall, I think this is a great entry point into the SDJ fragrance world and a good value for what it is. I’d recommend it for anyone curious about the “yellow” scent who isn’t ready to go all in yet.
