  • Fantastic AIO Light/s For Creators and Zoom Calls
So a friend of mine suggested I check out Sokani because I was shopping around for some new LED panel lights for various photography and video work, he told me these deliver great lighting and come bundled to the teeth with accessories. So for my needs of course I ordered two, however one should suffice though for anything web cam related. Upon the lights arriving and opening them I was very impressed with the packaging at this price point. Custom foam packaging inserts for each individual accessory + light, so essentially you're getting a carrying / storage case with your light. Of course before plugging it in I play with the brightness and temperature knobs which are not too tight, not too loose, easy enough to fly thru settings if you're ever in a crunch on set. A remote w/ a LCD screen is also included with the light that works right out the box with no programming, even with multiple lights. The remote is extremely helpful for photographers / videographers who need to coordinate brightness and warmth settings with their ISO, shutter, aperture, and white balance settings when finding that perfect shot without running back and forth. I finally plug the lights in to test them out in my office which has some pretty rough lighting that casts some unflattering shadows. Which let's be real you're probably buying these for home use and not buying them because you got flattering lighting in your house, this is to help manage your lighting, which it does! (Of course above I attached some example shots of regular room lighting vs the Sokani Key Lights which really show no matter where you are these will you get you great lighting.) So anyways testing out the brightness, I set it to 100% and stare directly into it, why did I do that? These pre-diffused lights get super bright and a single one will light up a standard room with ease, and even on low they're still super potent. Next I test the warmth and cold (temperature) settings, these lights get Disney warm which is great for a bevy of video work filming cooking segments, beauty videos, vlogging, whatever, and of course they get really cold too which is great for a more technical game streamer or action movie look. The lights also have a bonus feature which is FX, and for under $100 the FX aren't bad. Among simple yellow / white strobes one of the effects is candle and is a pretty convincing candle or fire effect along with broken bulb. You also have "cinema" or I call it thriller which gives you a kinda stranger things action pulsing vibe. Other nice features are each light has a LCD panel that even lights ups displaying current settings, and surprisingly the remote has a similar LCD panel that relays settings that lights as well. Of course as advertised the light also comes with clamps and a pole for you to easily set up lighting on your desk which is not only helpful for streaming or zoom meetings but product photos / videos. It all suspiciously sounds seems too good to be true for under $100 but it is. So far there's nothing I can really peg as inconvenient, the Sokani Key Lights are extremely straight forward and user friendly and help me manage lighting pretty much anywhere, I would certainly recommend these for any vloggers, youtube instructors, streamers, or film makers on a budget. ... show more

  • Surprisingly bright and very convenient light kit
I'll start off with the build quality the light itself is mainly plastic but it's a very sturdy plastic. It isn't creaky or flimsy feeling and there's no flex in it so big checkmark in that department. The stand is mostly metal and secures really well on my desk. All of the tightening knobs are plastic which I honestly wish was metal too but for this price point that's really to be expected. Regardless everything tightens well and I haven't had an issue with anything getting loose. As for the light output this thing can get pretty bright. In the picture I attached I'm using just the P25. I had my room light turned off and the P25 was set to just 40% brightness at 5600k. The exposure looked good at that level so yeah there's plenty of headroom if you have the light a bit further away or just want a brighter look. Having the diffuser built in definitely adds some softness to it and also helps with it not being so blinding (though if you have it cranked all the way up you'll still get some of that sensation). I really like that it includes a remote makes it way more convenient to turn it on/off and especially for making lighting adjustments. Only downside was it didn't come with batteries for the remote so be sure you have a couple triple A's to use. The power cable for the light is nice and long though. Overall it's a very solid kit and well worth it for YouTube vids, streaming, etc. ... show more

  • Great light with excellent remote
Very useful and powerful light at this price point. The color temperature can be adjusted from 2800K to 8000K, and the brightness from 0%-100%. Note that it comes with a clamp to place on a table. These clamps are solid metal and look to be quite solid. This light can be adapted to use with a light stand or C stand that you already have. To me the best feature of this setup is the handy included remote control which allows you to adjust the temperature and brightness without touching the back of the unit. This comes in especially handy when you are in front of the camera and want to see the live results of your adjustments. There is also a +20% button which increases your brightness in 20% increments until you reach 100%, and start at 0% once again, for quick on the fly adjustments. There are also buttons for turning the light on and off, and accessing the FX functions. The FX functions include flickering candle light and lightning for example. There are 11 channels available (00-10) and 6 Groups (A-F), meaning that you can find the right channel with less interference and then use several individual lights in groups accessing them through one remote control by cycling through the different groups on the remote. ... show more

  • Very sturdy design and bright lights
I've been using them for a few months. I had some other cheaper LED lights, and they didn't last long. I bought two of these lights. The built is very sturdy, I love the granular brightness control, both from the back dial as well as the remote. Even the remote looks very solid. The remote, sometimes, is a bit finicky. Once in a while, if I use it to turn on both lights (you can configure one remote to control multiple lights), one of them won't turn on. I just have to press the button after repositioning the remote and then it works. They are REALLY bright lights. I sit about three feet away from them and I don't turn them more than 36% brightness. The stand that comes with the light is not very versatile and move the lights on two axes, but it is very stable and convenient to manage. ... show more
