Magic Shave: Tips from 30 Years of Experience Let me share the most effective way I've found to use Magic Shave (Black and Gold can) after three decades of regular use. Getting the Mix Right: The key is in the preparation. Pour your powder in a bowl, add water, and here's the important part - let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before mixing. This resting time makes all the difference - the powder naturally absorbs the water, making it much easier to blend. After waiting, use a spatula to mix until smooth. If needed, add small amounts of water until you get the consistency you want. A thicker mix removes hair better, but you'll need to be more careful with timing. Application Steps: 1. Do this in the shower - makes cleanup a breeze 2. Use the No Razor Shaver (Amazon item #Br48503) 3. Critical safety point: Never leave it on your skin longer than 5-7 minutes 4. For removal: - Use a spray bottle or shower water - Work against the grain at an angle - Make several passes to get everything Clean-Up: Very important - don't use a washcloth or anything abrasive when washing your face afterward! Your skin will be more sensitive, so just use your hands with gentle soap and rinse with water. Rough materials can irritate your skin. This worked really well for me, especially for the price. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and gets the job done without needing a razor, which is nice. I didn’t have any major issues using it, and the process was pretty straightforward. One thing to note. when the hair grew back on my arms, it came in a little differently than usual.     • Amazing for removing hair

At first, I was skeptical of shaving in a "non-traditional" way, but this product has completely changed my mind. After a small trim, using this will get you extremely smooth, and it lasts a couple days for me, too. It will require some trial and error to figure out what mix works best for you, and in this trial and error phase, you may slight experience chemical burns (especially when you've never used it before). I would not recommend applying it more than once in the same area on the same day, as it will hurt. Figure out what amount of powder to mix with what amount of water works good for the area you're shaving, and stick to it. After few uses, you won't even feel any burning anymore. I'd recommend using gloves while applying it. Overall this powder is great, it's cheap, and I personally don't find any issues with the smell. Though due to the learning curve and small risk to chemical burns (especially when it's your first use), it may not be for everyone. However, I'd argue that razor burn and nicks are very equatable when learning how to shave in the first place. ... show more

    • Good for a quick fix. Not a permanent solution.

Let me just say, it doesn't eliminate the problem. I thought it would be similar to nair, sort of. Just nair actually stinks with the chemicals, and nair burns. This doesnt burn, unless it sits on your face too long. Otherwise it doesn't smell, and it acts like its a quick shave with a razor or trimmer. I'm a female and having to take care of thick facial hair on a regular basis has been a really long, knowledgeable, and exhausting journey. I've tried everything from Nair cream (typically for legs and body), to facial strips, to electrolysis (the absolute worst if you have a low pain tolerance like I do), "European waxing" (second worst because I was given someone who couldn't grip the wax. I walked out needing to get first aid), epilator (this hurts a lot since it pulls all hairs. even peach fuzz), I've done regular waxing too.... nothing had helped... and I was finding other ways to just give me a temporary fix for the next 48 hours looking like a cactus until it grew back. After a good 20 years of this journey, and I've given up on quick fixing unless I need to work with the public. I've been just using tweezers now for the last month carefully pulling the hairs out one by one. Since its a temporary pain instead of a lasting pain from ripping something off. I have no complaints with this powder, it did what it was supposed to do, but it was also a stepping stone for me to figure out a permanent solution to removing my issue. Awesome hair removal option. As a female I have course, dark hair, used for about 7 minutes on my leg and bikini line, very minimal bumps or irritation. Smell is less than nair. The powder is hard to mix so I would mix it in a cup so it doesn't fly everywhere.
