This has completely replaced a razor in my routine. If you’re anything like me, your leg hair grows out after a couple days of shaving and you may even have ingrown hairs. I use this by kind of eye-balling the powder and water ratio in a container (make sure it’s one with a lid). Shake it up and add more powder or more water to make it less watery and more like a cream. After five minutes on your skin, just wipe away with a wet cloth and your skin is smooth and hairless as if your used Nair! I would say a whole can does my whole body ( mustache area, pelvis, legs, thighs, and arms). I recommend that you use before a shower. ... show more

At first, I was skeptical of shaving in a "non-traditional" way, but this product has completely changed my mind. After a small trim, using this will get you extremely smooth, and it lasts a couple days for me, too. It will require some trial and error to figure out what mix works best for you, and in this trial and error phase, you may slight experience chemical burns (especially when you've never used it before). I would not recommend applying it more than once in the same area on the same day, as it will hurt. Figure out what amount of powder to mix with what amount of water works good for the area you're shaving, and stick to it. After few uses, you won't even feel any burning anymore. I'd recommend using gloves while applying it. Overall this powder is great, it's cheap, and I personally don't find any issues with the smell. Though due to the learning curve and small risk to chemical burns (especially when it's your first use), it may not be for everyone. However, I'd argue that razor burn and nicks are very equatable when learning how to shave in the first place. ... show more

Magic Shave: Tips from 30 Years of Experience Let me share the most effective way I've found to use Magic Shave (Black and Gold can) after three decades of regular use. Getting the Mix Right: The key is in the preparation. Pour your powder in a bowl, add water, and here's the important part - let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before mixing. This resting time makes all the difference - the powder naturally absorbs the water, making it much easier to blend. After waiting, use a spatula to mix until smooth. If needed, add small amounts of water until you get the consistency you want. A thicker mix removes hair better, but you'll need to be more careful with timing. Application Steps: 1. Do this in the shower - makes cleanup a breeze 2. Use the No Razor Shaver (Amazon item #Br48503) 3. Critical safety point: Never leave it on your skin longer than 5-7 minutes 4. For removal: - Use a spray bottle or shower water - Work against the grain at an angle - Make several passes to get everything Clean-Up: Very important - don't use a washcloth or anything abrasive when washing your face afterward! Your skin will be more sensitive, so just use your hands with gentle soap and rinse with water. Rough materials can irritate your skin. Routine: Use it every other day, not daily - your skin needs that break. Always wash gently afterward and use moisturizer, especially in winter when skin gets drier.     • It works but at what cost

I have PCOS which means I have to pluck or wax my chin/neck hairs constantly. I figured I would try something different and this powder was recommended on TT so I said why not. I followed the directions and applied for 7 minutes then wiped with a damp cloth. Did it get rid of the hair? Yes yes it did, I only applied it once and it got every hair BUT I guess my skin is too sensitive because my face got super red for a few hours even after washing my face thoroughly. The next day I could already feel the chin stubble coming back since it can only get rid of hair that's exposed so while this product does work it's not for me. I rather wax or pluck so I'm able to remove the whole hair root and go without waxing for a week. ... show more

Long time Magic Shave User (Silver Can), after the recent outrageous prices for the silver can I decided to give the Black and Gold a try. It works just as well and less smell also. So, if you normal user the silver can, the black and gold works just as well with less smell.
