These run big. I’ve bought Champion, Hanes, and Fruit of the Loom sweatpants for my kids—one is currently in a size L, the other in a M. In these, you cannot go by regular boys’ sweatpant sizing. They’re huge compared to other brands. I am keeping the L for one of them to grow into (someday), but the medium still has a lot of room for him to grow. I had to order a S for the other kid, because he’s swimming in these in a M. Other than the sizing issue, they’re pretty nice sweatpants. I bought these for a Miranda Sings costume. I'm a 5 ft. tall petite woman and the XL size worked great for this. If you are my size and just wanting to wear them normally though, I would go with a large.
