Description

Mica powder is widely used in a great number of crafts. It creates the effect of depth, metallic shimmer, and pearlescent beauty. These fine particles are as easy to use as any other pigment. They do not migrate, but keep sharp contours for a long time, thus they are perfectly suitable for handmade cosmetics, soap, epoxy resin jewelry, etc. They keep their brightness for a long time and do not fade. Mica powder gives wonderful results when added to paint, glue, epoxy, alcohol, and other types of varnishes to enhance a finish. It is very easy to use and versatile in application. It's a must- have craft supply you want to add to achieve a wow effect with your home décor and craft projects. We offer this amazing product in a number of variations: 24 color pack (in bags or in jars) 36 color pack, 50 color pack, and 100 color pack. You're always welcome to leave your comments and feedback. Should you have any issues with the product or questions, we will be glad to help and solve the problem. SOAP Mica pearlescent pigments can be used as a soap colorant both for clear soap bases, delivering the vividness of shimmering colors. A little amount of mica powder goes a long way. However, mica powder may not be suitable for cold process soap making, as some colors are likely to morph. MAKEUP & NAIL ART Being a product of natural origin, mica powder is used to create amazingly bright and vivid makeup: lip gloss, eye shadows, rouge, etc. Mica is also very popular and loved by nail artists. You can't imagine how many beautiful nail designs you will be able to do. BATH BOMBS Creating your own bath bombs with mica powder can be extremely fun. You can mix and match the colors to get the exact one you're looking for, or even create an absolutely new color! Just don't expect your bath bombs to be bright and vivid. Mica will always look pastel in bathbombs. Read more EPOXY RESIN DECOR You can make absolutely anything with epoxy resin. Coasters, tumblers, figurines, furniture and wall decorations. And the combination of epoxy and mica will work miracles. Have you ever seen ocean-themed trays or tables? They can be real masterpieces. CANDLES Mica powder is a great option when it comes to candle making, just make sure you do not add too much of it, as it may clog a wick and prevent your candle from burning. We recommend using mica shimmering particles to granulated wax to make beautiful jar candles or candle surface decoration. EPOXY RESIN JEWELRY The beautiful mica powder with metallic shimmering will produce stunning effects in handmade epoxy resin jewelry. This combination can create something that is truly mesmerizing. • Mica Powder Everywhere.
Size: 24
This is an amazing collection of bright, shimmery mica powders. Unfortunately, many of the bags come leaking and every single bag has powder all over the lip and outside of the bag. I haven't opened a single bag and just handling them lightly gets my hands sparkling like I just applied glitter eyeshadow to my hands. I'm happy with the product but really unhappy with this sloppy, messy presentation. Everything else is great- the mica is very fine and even, the colors are brilliant and beautiful, and if you're like me, this many colors at once makes me feel like I'm holding a stack of bills instead of tiny bags of mica. Also, all the bags are labeled and it comes with thorough instructions with warnings on it. So I was a bit torn on how to rate this product. The mica powder all arrives spilling out everwhere and gets all over your hands and clothes, but it's a fantastic product. What would you rate that? ... show more

I love these. For a beginning soap-maker, they're wonderful to work with, an excellent introduction to working with micas that won't break the bank (if you're wondering whether or not to splurge and get the 50-pack, you might want to). Although they come in 0.1oz baggies, that goes much further than you might think. According to the manufacturer, one 0.1 oz packet is enough to color 50-175 oz (about 3.1-10.9 lbs) of soap, depending on how intense you want your colors to be (i found measuring to be a bit of a trial-and-error thing, since my scale doesn't go to hundredth-place increments). The only trouble is when using the mica as an accent rather than as a colorant, you're liable to use way more than you actually need. Less really is more with this stuff. Fortunately, with 24 packets there are bound to be a couple colors you feel you can use freely and for experimental purposes before using your favorites. Cold process: I've used these twice in cold process soap: the first one (at its 4-week checkup) held up very well. The second (at it's 1-week checkup) seems to be maturing fairly well. Melt and pour: it produces decent pastels when mixed with a white melt and pour base. The clear melt and pour projects I've done have all used the mica as an accent (rose-quartz chips in matrix, 'painted' onto bon-bon shaped embeds, etc.) and has produced lovely effects. The mica mostly stays, but a little will come off, which touched the rest of the clear with color and sparkle. I found it quite agreeable. I haven't used these in bath bombs, but the box does come with a little bottle of Polysorbate 80, and instructions on how to use it. Pros: -Bright assortment of fantastic colors! -Cheap enough not to feel like you can experiment without feeling the need to hoard your precious colors! -Hold up reasonably well in cold process soap -Do really well in melt and pour -A little bit goes a long way! Cons: -I was a little disappointed not to receive anything approaching a decent red. I'm still not sure how to feel about the 'oranges' I got. The Vineous is muted, the Light Papaya doens't really pop (not as far as I've used it). I class them as 'orange' but I'd really have liked an orange that was recognizable as a bold orange. -I've heard other soap makers talk about getting pearly looks with micas, but I have yet to get anything I'd call 'pearly' with these. Then again, I'm still exploring their usage. -Knowing how much mica I need has been something of a struggle, since I don't have a scale sensitive enough to measure to 0.0x. That said, once I adopted someone else's "1/2 tsp. per pound of soap" things got easier. It's a good ballpark figure to start with. Anyway, these cons are really minor things, and a little quality time with Google cleared at least one of them up. I highly recommend this for soap makers who are still at that stage of deciding if soaping is right for them (or those who think it is and simply want to experiment without breaking the bank or going through soap-making suppliers). ... show more

  • Stains
Size: 24
Used these to make bath bombs and it left stains on my skin and tub. I had to scrub my tub with bleach, and scrub my body in the shower for quite some time. Just when I thought I had gotten all the pigment off, I’d notice more smeared on me. What a mess. Extremely disappointed in this product.

  • Won't be buying again on second thought.
There's other packs out there that give you lots of colors, 3x more the product for 1/2 the price. After having done some more shopping, I feel ripped off by the tiny amounts this company gave me for what I paid. They have a good, not great, product, in tiny little amounts. One package is enough to color perhaps one pound of soap. And the colors won't be like you expect. Red turns out pink. Dark purple turns out lavender. You get the idea. I did get 50 different colors to play with. But not enough of any to do the job I need done. Just, buy someplace else that gives more bang for the buck. ... show more

These are awesome for anyone who wants to use them in resin projects. You don't need much to make the color pop. If you don't want it to be translucent you just need to add a little more powder.

Very easy to use. Powders come in easy to close, convenient zip top bags. I’m using the powders for resin molded pendants. I’m really pleased with the color and sparkle.

  • Not for bath bombs
Size: 24
These aren’t good for bath bombs. I know it says for soap, but if you’re looking to use them in bath bombs don’t. They do contain glitter and will leave your skin sparkley. If that’s what you’re looking for then go ahead! For me, it’s not what I wanted. Even after a shower I’m still sparkley. The colors look great. ... show more
