Typically I have used the pants hangers that have 4x rungs that swing outwards and then secure back in place after you put your pants on the rung. Having used this, I'm converted to this style of storing pants in closets: it's just easier. This product functions as demonstrated in the listing, so no surprises in terms of the mechanics, but a couple of notes on this... - This is bulky when loaded, just as you would expect if you have 9 pairs of pants folded over once and stacked - but this actually adds further bulk. It's better than hanging all the pants next to each other on individual hangers, but still... expect it to be ~6" wide when loaded. - Fully loaded, these things can get HEAVY, especially if you're putting jeans on them. If you're using this in a closet that actually has a fair amount of space on the rack so that you can just swing the 2nd hook up onto the rack when loading/unloading pants, then this isn't as much of an issue. That said, this hook doesn't rotate, so if you don't, you're often going to have to unhook this and move it elsewhere to expand it... I'm a decently strong guy and I have to unhook the hanger with two hands. If they made the top hook rotate so you can swing it out by the 2nd hook with one hand and then slide off the pants with your free hand, I'd give this 5 stars and order another set. Otherwise, I'd only recommend this product for those trying to regain space in a closet that isn't already overfilled or if you have a disproportionate amount of pants in one closet for some reason and you're going to use a bunch of these to regain enough rack space to be able to swing at least one of these up into both hooks. ... show more

I ordered this to help my oldest son organize his closet a bit. He says it freed up a lot of space in his closet. It feels durable. It was easy to put together and it's very easy to hang clothes on it. It's convenient and functional. There is a stopper at the end so that the clothes don't fall off the hangers. The only thing he said he might appreciate more is if the hangers were a little longer. ... show more

These hangers are great for closet organization and streamlining, and they can be configured to hold 9 thin/lightweight items or 5 thick/heavy items. If you're using them for smaller items like scarves, you can easily add multiple to the same bar to fit even more. The metal bars and hooks fit into the plastic connector easily and the plastic feels sturdy and not brittle. When loaded with 5 pairs of jeans, this hanger gets pretty heavy, and it's very difficult to remove items without hanging it up on the second hook horizontally, so you'll still need some free space in your closet to use this optimally (this is less of an issue with thin/light items). The hangers are kept in place with plastic bits that rely on friction to hold them in place. This makes for easy assembly and disassembly, so reconfiguring them to suit your wardrobe needs each season is feasible, but the pieces can be dislodged accidentally when adding or removing clothes from the hanger, so you'll need to keep an eye out for that, especially if you have pets who may want to chew/eat small pieces of soft plastic. While assembly is easy and fairly straightforward, the included instructions could be improved-- the photos were somewhat washed out and blurry, making it hard to tell which way the plastic piece was facing, and the text contained typos. ... show more

Overall this is a great product, it's good quality, looks good in the closet, and helps reduce the chances of wrinkling or pants falling off of clothes hangers. As far as saving space - the way that I use it horizontally does not save space at all, it actually increased the amount of space that it takes up. If I was to do the hangers vertically, then it makes it very difficult to put the pants on the hanger. Even when it is horizontal, I find it a little more difficult to get the pants off the hanger or to put the pants back on the hanger. The reason is the anti-slip grip, but it serves the purpose of helping the pants not fall off. Some people this may work for. I'm still trying to give it a try, but I'm finding it to be more work than just sliding the pants on regular hangers and then hanging them in my closet as right now I'm not seeing the point other than a nicer, organized look. The anti-slip grips work, and maybe work too good. I'm still giving this product a 4 star rating. ... show more

I have a super small apartment and, in spite of having a fairly large closet, I have extremely limited space for my actual clothes. I'm always on the lookout for new innovating tools to maximize the space I have. These are actually pretty great, once you figure them out. Setup is WAY less complicated than it sounded in the ad and only takes a few minutes. I would recommend hanging it horizontally once you get it all set up so you can hang the clothes more easily. It's actually pretty tough to hang them when it's vertical. What I love about this is that it isn't just for pants. I've used some of the hangers for tank tops and even shorts (the arm goes through one leg). Additionally, on the reverse side, there are little hooks for plastic hangers. The hangers snap in perfectly and hang in a staggered, tiered fashion. It's fantastic. Plus, even with all that weight on it, it's still pretty light, as the hanger itself is strong, but lightweight. All the weight comes from the clothes. The true unsung benefit of these hangers is that, whilst I've really maximized my closet space with these, I can now visually see what I have available, rather than relying on memory. My pants are much more accessible now than they were stacked up in a drawer. That's great for people like me who only wear, like, one outfit over and over again (but, like, after washing it--c'mon, guys), and occasionally want to wear something else, but have no idea what they have, so they just wear the old outfit again. What I'm saying is, if my situation sounds like yours, this is the space-saving tool for you. Highly recommend. ... show more
