These are very good tongs and I have had no problems with them and they grab incredibly well. However, please keep in mind that there is a risk and it may have been my own fault, this was like a freak accident. I was feeding my boa and she’s a baby still so smaller prey is not a good idea with these as I’ve learned the hard way. She struck and wrapped around the tongs before I could let go of the mouse and pull them away. The pointed ridges were my main worry as she wrapped around, but then I realized she had wrapped and clamped the tip of the tongs onto her head, pressing down and nearly got her eye. Again, I think this was just a freak accident but it scared the hell out of me. It’s worked great for my rat snakes as they’re bigger and typically just strike instead of constricting so I’ll keep using it for them. But for snakes you know will constrict when eating, I wouldn’t use these just to be extra safe. This could just be my paranoia though. But these are very good quality tongs and pretty cheap too.

These tongs have made feeding my noodle a breeze! We originally bought some other tongs that were like large tweezers from the reptile store and they were much shorter and extremely hard to squeeze. Constant kept dropping the rat when we'd try to feed our ball python. Have had 5 feedings with these tongs and have not dropped the rat once during the feedings and the tongs are super long im never worried about being struck. Highly recommend!

Much better than the average metal feeding tongs. I have 2 ball pythons, one of which eats 210-230g rats and with my old tongs I had a hard time gripping them and would often slip or bend the tongs. These tongs have none of those issues, they are sturdy enough to easily handle rodents much heavier. They don't bend and are easy to use and clean. The teeth at the end prevent the rat from slipping. They're also much longer which is a big plus if you have a snake with terrible aim or a taste for fingers. I also personally love the handles, it offers much better grip and control for me. It makes them look like giant scissors. But, it makes them function so much better than my old ones so they get a pass.

Honestly so far I like it tho mine where a little loose feeling. I wish they fit a little more snug. Since my snake likes to hold onto the food while I wiggle it a bit. So I’m giving 4 stars because I think it has potential and next feeding I’m gonna try to wrap the tail more. The weight of them is not bad. I do enjoy having it over feeding tongs. Didn’t have a clear place to take photo lol Also old photo of my snake for reference.

Excellent tool for feeding a very food motivated ball python. I wound up with one of the sketchy ones and these tongs put plenty of cold metal between her food and my hand and the scissors like grip makes it comfortable and easy to pick up and hold onto the rodent for her. And it’s easy to release once she grabs the rat. I have also found them helpful for booping her away from me when I need to do something in her tank (again she’s sketchy).
