I love my new Aerator it wasn’t difficult to put together at all, it did take me about an hour to assemble between doing other things as well. It a pretty sturdy tool for the price and well made. Saw other comments where other people were complaining that it didn’t roll very well,, mine rolls like butter no issue’s ,,maybe they left out the bushing that helps it roll smoothly. Anyway it’s a great tool I highly recommend it for home use and make sure to add weight I added 1” River rocks and sand mixture and it penetrate the soil here in central Texas with ease.

This SMONTER lawn aerator is alright. You definitely need to fill it up with something heavy, like rocks, to make it work properly. Is it the best aerator out there? Probably not. But is it the worst? Definitely not. It's kind of in the middle of the road. For the price, it does an okay job – not amazing, but not terrible either. It took me a little while to put it together. On the plus side, it seems pretty sturdy, so I'm hoping it will last for many years. It's a decent value if you're not looking for anything super fancy.

This tool got bent and broke during first use. This is not a durable design. For the first 5 minutes while it was working, it was not penetrating the ground as intended (and yes, I added the required dead weight to the drum). After spending 30 minutes to put it together, I had to disassemble it to return it. Avoid.

Yes, Yes 100 times yes to this. It has been an absolute game changer for our lawn. We aerated in half the time and it is a really functional and effective device. My only complaint is assembly and requiring like rocks to fill the inside, but I get it for weight and shipping purposes. We just went on a rock hunt and found what we needed.

This rolling lawn aerator works well. I have used other methods to aerate my lawn over the years and this is buy far the most economical solution I have found.i have used spikes on my shoes, the three spiked metal pole with a handle that you step into, and also hired people to do it for me. All of those options either take a great deal of time or a great deal of money. This aerator is the right size, proper weight, and was easy to install and assemble. It did take about 35 minutes for me to assemble the aerator. But the instructions were very clear and everything is properly labeled for each step. Also, the packaging was on spot. Every piece comes individually bubble wrapped to prevent any scratches or dings to the parts. I would suggest that you add sand to the bag or use some zip loc bags to add as much sand as possible to addd to the weight. I tired it out and was able to aerate my entire lawn in about an hour. I would highly recommend this item. I will be using mine for years to come.

Depending on where you live and the type of grass you may care for, aeration can be helpful to reduce compaction, improve water penetration, and improve seed and fertilizer distribution. In my case, I have employed lawn experts to use powered aerators that literally pull plugs out of the ground as they use the machine. You can definitely see the effect when they perform the aeration and it does seem to help with proper growth during the season. With spring approaching, I was interested in this Smonter manual aerator for a small yard. Assembly is straight forward. The native weight of the aeration unit is not all that heavy so filling the central cylinder with dirt, sand, or pea gravel increases weight and provides better penetration. The overall action is to push multiple nails into the dirt, but without the obvious discharge of plugs deposited on top of the lawn. I knew what this current device did prior to getting and using it. Will it help my lawn grow better? Maybe. Is it as effective as a machine method? Probably not. It certainly is not as satisfying. The actual judgement of whether the “lawn looks better than last year”? I am not an expert! I will probably let my neighbors give it a try and see if they think it works.

Stands almost as tall as I do, which is great for extension. This aerator is a beast! It is heavily weighted, but light enough to be picked up, and the nails are so strong. Assembly was not quick, but it was easy. The instructions were remarkably clear with easily discernible parts in images that specifically identified every step of the way to completion. I did poke myself a couple of times during installation, but no incidental damage to me or property. This is a phenomenal aerator and I am just waiting for spring to arrive so I can get started. Honestly, this so easy to use that I will probably aerate at least once a month with this aerator. I have a clay mix soil, so it clams up pretty easily. This is going to cut right through so my lawn can build strong roots. Highly recommended.
