Description

Smittybilt XRC Front Stinger Bumper is hand crafted to exacting specifications using DOM 1020 2 inch tubing which is one of the strongest materials available. Each Stinger base is manufactured out of 3/16 inch cold rolled steel with reinforced gussets and solid D-Ring mounts that are welded on the inside and out for maximum strength. All of the stinger products come in the signature series textured matte black finish.

Great bumper! Fit perfectly and looks awesome! I purchased this on November 9th 2015 and still love it. As you can see from the pictures I have put this bumper on two jeep TJ's. One was a 99 and the other is a 06. Sadly i totaled my 99 when a car hit my rear corner panel during a snowstorm causing me to fishtail and slam into a concrete barrier at about 60mph. I fully believe if I did not have this bumper i would have been much more hurt after the accident. Due to the bumpers thickness and strength, the frame became the weak point and took the full force of the crash causing the frame to bend beyond repair. Surprisingly the bumper was not badly damaged at all even though it is what contacted the barrier. Once i bought my new to me 2006 jeep TJ wrangler the first thing I did was throw this bumper on it. All I needed was new grade 8 bolts since mine were sheared off in the accident and a rubber mallet to put it on. I did my best to show the damage that was caused by the accident (as seen on the silver jeep) but as you can see, with a little sanding and painting this thing will look brand new! ... show more

Well-packed. Smittybilt 76521 Stinger fit 06 TJ Rubicon perfectly. I was able to drill 2 holes near each outer corner to mount my factory Rubicon (Hella) fog loghts (see photo). There is enough room if the factory tow hooks are left off (I'll keep a 3/4" shackle in the tool box to use on the tabs welded to the front of the bumper). The wires even reached on the driver side; the passenger side I spliced about an inch longer. I used 2 shorter top bolts (1/2-13 x1.5"; grade 8) for the front hole on each side. I used original T55 Torx long bolts in the rear holes. I added grade 8 flat washers under the top bolts. My main purpose is to protect the radiator from deer / elk strikes. Stinger should do this well. It's made from good, tough steel, as witnessed by the effort necessary to drill the holes for the lights. I don't have any miles on it yet, but the powdercoat looks good from the factory. Actually a nicer bumper than I expected. So far I am very pleased with this purchase! ... show more

    • STOUT! This bumper is well worth the money
I bought this to add more up front protection and improve the look of my 04 Wrangler Rubicon. I just had the simple straight rock crawler bumper on it before and this bumper really did the trick. It's heavy, welds are very clean and the powder coating seems pretty thick. Only two things that kept it from 5 star for me were that it doesn't appear they got much coating on the inside between the plates of steel (top area with the 3 holes has a hollow area between each side). That would seem to be the most likely place for rust (only time will tell). Only other thing was that it's almost a gloss finish. I was expecting it to be more of a matte finish. Looking at the photo again, it is accurate, just not a standard finish on most of these types of bumpers. All in All. It's a great looking bumper and really stout. I'd recommend. ... show more

Bumper came quick and absolutely adds a much more aggressive look to the Jeep compared to stock bumper. I also purchased the matching winch plate which came with replacement hardware. If you are just going to install the bumper I would suggest making a trip to the hardware and get some replacement grade 8 bolts to replace factory torx. Bumper is solid with what seems like a quality powder coat finish. Install is straight forward. It fit snug on my TJ and needed to be massaged into place with a hammer and piece of wood.     • This was a pretty good deal
This was a pretty good deal. Bumper looks good. The fit was TIGHT. I had to line it up and then smack it on with a 4x4 piece of lumber. I didn't do myself any favors though by not cleaning up the surface of the jeep's frame and applying a little lubricant. Probably still would have had to use the BFH (big f-ing hammer). NOT A BIG DEAL. Maybe the people who ground down their frames just didn't know to pound it on. Also, does not look exactly as pictured, it has extra gussets that I had seen on the SRC model, SCORE! Not sure exactly what's up with that. The one I recieved was the one that I wanted but was prepared to settle for a more basic model due to shipping restrictions to Puerto Rico. More than sufficient for clearing urban obstacles such as my neighbors Prius. Black coating and welds look good. ... show more

I love the look of the bumper and it's very sturdy but I had trouble mounting it because it didn't like up with the holes by about half an inch so I have to drill a little bit to make it fit.

So, I am not the most mechanical person in the world, but it only took me about an hour to get this thing on. Now, had I not had some minor issues, it would have been much quicker. The only issue that I had was once I had removed the old bumper and was sliding the new one one, I was having problems getting all 4 holes on the top to align simultaneously, it seemed as though the bumper was catching on something, but upon investigation, I couldn't find anywhere that was hanging up. So, I got the right side lined up with the holes, hand tightened both bolts just a bit and then shoved the other side on and PRESTO, it was on. It looks sweet too. The only thing I need to figure out now is how to mount my factory TJ fog lights, as there are not pre-drilled holes for the bracket to sit on. ... show more
