Pros: The bumper looks great and feels stout, especially for the low price it goes for. The paint is applied well with no bubbling or cracking. The install was super easy, with only one minor adjustment for fitment, which is pretty typical of parts made for 2 body styles of Jeeps, TJ and YJ. Cons: That minor adjustment was grinding down the washers so the bolt holes lined up on the top side of the bumper. I had to grind about half of the washer wall on one side to make these fit. All in all, this only added about 5 minutes to the install, so not a big deal. The bigger issue is that while this does use all 6 factory mounting bolts, 2 of the top ones are only going through a washer so they aren't actually helping with horizontal loads on the bumper, like, say, a D ring being used as a winch point. Instead of 3 bolts holding, it's really only 2 for each side. The factory tow hooks do act as a link for the bumper to the bolts in the back, but that is a weaker connection than if the bolt holes were attached to the bumper itself. That's probably enough for most applications, but it's something to keep in mind if you're going to put a lot of stress on the D rings. ... show more

Good solid bumper and was a direct fit , love the old school simplicity of the look. I had to drill 2 holes for my winch plate but it only added 5 minutes to the job. Overall great sturdy bumper for the price

I previously ordered a discounted damaged box Smittybilt stainless tubular bumper but it was also damaged. Sent it back then ordered this one, it too was marked down as "used but in great shape." Because it's a heavy duty one piece bumper and not hollow stainless steel it was just fine. Installed in only 10 minutes. I like the slim design and the attached D-Rings, but should something happen up front I feel I have a solid bumper up there to take care of business. It replaced the original bumper which had some damage to the right side by a minor fender bender from previous owner, kind of ugly so I wanted to replace it. The original bumper is at least half the weight of this one, so even though it's slim I feel that it's sturdy. Can add a winch plate and winch later if I decide to, but for those looking to buy the bumper the photos showing those items are only for future installation purposes, doesn't come with them. This bumper was easy to install and all of the holes lined up correctly. I replaced the factory bumper with this one and there is no comparison. This bumper also has the tow mounts already welded on. Looks cool too. Use the included spacers if you're mounting on a TJ. I purchased Grade 8 bolts and that was a good idea. ... show more
