My daughter got me my first Smartwool socks and that just about all I buy now. I did get a different brand from REI and that was great too. For this particular sock, I decided to go with size Large as suggested based on my shoe size which was 9, however, it seemed to have run a tad larger. Quality is wonderful.

I have been a fan of Smartwool socks for many years. They are comfortable and I wear them nearly year round except for the hottest part of the summer. They breathe well and never make my feet sweat and they never bunch up in the toes or fall down around my ankles. They are durable as I have had pairs that last for years even with constant use. I recently purchased alpaca wool socks to try and was disappointed. I don't think they are as warm as Smartwool or as cushioned in the foot. I will stay with Smartwool as my go to socks.

Set dryer to lowest setting per manufacturer's directions - check their website and view product labels - 3 pairs shrank over an inch. At over $20 a pair that is a costly error. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever throw them in the dryer regardless of what the label says and regardless of whether the stupid machine tells you it is on 'low heat' or 'wool' setting.
