  • Works great for my R5 mark II
Style: for Canon
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This fan is using a physical cooling mechanism, it cools my camera during summer months. The fan requires an external power source to turn it on. So you will need figure out a way to charge it when you use it, like a battery, your phone, or external battery. But it is still cheaper than the official fan of r5 mark II. ... show more

  • Supercool. Seriously. It's Super Cool
Style: for Sony/Canon/FUJIFILM
I've had a lot of problem with my Sony cameras overheating. Over the years, I've used the ZV-E10, the a6300, the FX30, and now an a6700. The FX30s have built-in fans, but they still easily overheat. The a6700 is my newest camera and I want to use it as a B-cam for marketing videos. This SmallRig cooler pops right in with a bracket. It fits well and seems like it won't come loose. I even shook the camera pretty good and it wouldn't move. The metal build looks durable. As others have mentioned, it's more than just a simple fan. It also has a cooling device which actually cools the plate of the unit. Very slick. And the fan is very quiet. I'm very happy with this device, and I may try to use it with the FX30 as well. ... show more

  • Increased the Sony a6700 recording time from 40mins at 4k60 to 1hr and 30mins +
Style: for Sony
Probably one if not the best investment I’ve made for my Sony a6700. I used to use the usbC out at 1080p60. And it ran fairly well without overheating. But when I tried to output 4k30 via usbC it overheated after 40mins… I tried to use the hdmi out at 1080p60 and that still over heated at around 50mins… Now I stream at 4k60 using the Elgato 4k X capturing the full 4k60. And when I added this fan. I went for about 1hr and 30mins and there wasn’t even a warning of overheating. This product did the job perfectly and left me with excess overhead. (I usually live stream for about 1hr and 20mins). I’m very happy with the purchase. Great job creating this product. ... show more

  • Works well, but watch out for condensation! There's a Peltier in here.
Style: for Canon
So far, this seems adequate to prevent my Canon EOS R50 from overheating during video recording. Note that the EOS R series will NOT power this fan through the camera's USB-C port, so you WILL need an external power source. The cold side gets a lot colder than ambient temperature which surprised me. This device appears to have a Peltier in it which is why it's so effective. But since it gets colder than ambient it condenses water vapor, and my camera started dripping water after a while! It didn't interfere with operation at all, but it's something to be aware of and something to watch out for during use so it doesn't drip on other equipment or get positioned in a way that traps water inside the camera. ... show more

  • Works to keep Sony A7iv shooting 4k for 30+ minutes
Style: for Sony/Canon/FUJIFILM
As bad as the Sony A7iv is at overheating while shooting 4k video, this little fan is at keeping it cool. It works. Thanks to this can you really can shoot 30 or 40 minutes!

  • This year's best purchase!
Style: for Sony
It's a must-have item. I live in Florida, where temperatures can feel like a million degrees (just kidding), and before I bought this Peltier cooler, my camera (Sony A74) would only record for a maximum of 13 to 20 minutes, if I was lucky. With this cooler, I can shoot as much as I want without any issues. It fits well, works like a charm, and is surprisingly quiet on the first speed setting. The turbo or second mode is pretty loud, but at the same time, it cools like crazy ... show more

  • Plastic mount - don’t waste your money
Style: for Sony/Canon/FUJIFILM
The overheating issue with the Sony A7IV pushed me to look for cooling fan options. I first bought the Ulanzi fan, which mounts onto the camera using a spring-loaded bracket—it worked great. Then I got curious about what SmallRig had to offer and ordered this one. First of all, unlike the Ulanzi, this SmallRig fan only has one cooling speed and no built-in battery. The cooling itself is powerful—the back plate that touches the camera gets ice-cold within a minute. But the mounting system? It’s plastic garbage. It broke on the first day. Without the included adapter to mount it to the camera, this fan is useless. I’m now going to try the SmallRig fan that’s specifically designed for the Sony A7IV and uses a metal mounting clip. Hoping I can get a refund for this junk. ... show more

  • Great addition to a photo camera
Style: for Sony/Canon/FUJIFILM
It's a great addition to my a6700, because 4k60 video is not what this camera supposed to do for a long time. Now it is. Easy to install. Build quality is amazing. As well as packaging.
