  • So fun, good quality
Color: Fish Pavones
I've had the Fish Pavones for 4 days now. I started with a Flow board and quickly learned the limitations of that truck design. The Slide has version 3 of their truck which sits higher so the truck has more maneuverability and doesn't hit a stopping point like the cheaper Flow boards. I'm new to Surfkating and completely addicted. Only trouble is when hopping back on a normal board it takes a few minutes to remember how to turn using normal trucks. I absolutely love the feeling of carving this thing. Having a blast! ... show more

  • Awesome starter unit.
Color: Neme Pro Spacial
Likes: Cheaper than most established completes, my purchase was sub 170. Super stable/begginner friendly. Responds well to the beginner wiggle. Lower deck height than Smoothstar, Yow, Carver C7, Swelltech, Waterborne. More lean angle than flow. Silent operation. Higher top speed than most systems. It's my kids favorite system. Impossible to wheel bite. Dislike: Deck quality seems lower than other top brands. Maybe slightly softer and heavier. Curb hits leave pretty good dents and the tail wears quickly. Rail to rail isn't as buttery smooth as others. Bumpier/rougher ride than systems with bushings. You feel every crack. Summary: I still ride often even though I have many others to choose from. Recommend for anyone looking for a first surf skate or to use for distance riding. ... show more

  • My teenage son loves it
Color: CMC Pro
My teenage son loves riding this on our street and on concrete courts. He is a surfer and this surfskate simulates weaving on wave. When the waves are too small and not worth it to make the trek to the beach, this surfskate is the next best thing to surfing. This is fun and rideable for both my sons and my husband, too (Their heights range from 5 feet 0 inches to 5 ft. 8 inches; their weights range from 100 pounds to 150 pounds. ... show more

  • Impressed
Color: Diamond Belhar
First time on the deck and I thought it was too squirrely for a 51 year old surfer. Had a Carver that I got real comfortable even at the skate park and down hills. This scared me at first. Then I took it out for an evening run in the neighborhood mainly for surf training on flat to light incline streets. It beats the Carver IMO after I was able to control the shiftiness with more confidence. Shaper turns. More like surfing. I was able to get propulsion up smaller hills. On flatter streets I got the sensation of floating along. Super leg work out too. This is going to continue to improve my surfing like the Carver did. ... show more

  • Skating redefined, on a budget
Color: Fish Pavones
I've skated my whole life, but recently picked on of these up to help with my surfing. I wish I could have gotten one years ago. Hills that used to be far to steep to tackle on a longboard are totally doable now. You can carve so much that as long as you have enough horizontal width, you could safely skate practically any hill. On top of that, it's fun to play around on flat ground with a couple cones or some sidewalk chalk. Bottom line: surf-skate has redefined skateboarding for me. As far as this particular board goes, it's the least expensive good board of its kind. I love the chamfered wheels for hard carving and sliding. The size is about right for my height, 5'10. I bought the fish shape, but in hindsight I think I would prefer a flat tail for better durability. I think the spring adjustment is nice in theory, but I think it's a bit of a gimmick since you want to run it loose anyway. Follow up, a few months later: I still love this thing. I finally burned through the stock wheels and I'm on my second pair. Everything from my first impressions still hold, but I can say that even after the "shiny object syndrome" has worn off, I look forward to ripping hills on this thing. ... show more

  • Slide vs waterborne surf skate
Such a fun board. Carves really well and pumps well enough to make it up a slight incline if you’re willing to put in the effort. The wheels offer great traction while still giving you the ability to push out into a slide very easily. The only thing that I would change about this board is the grip. It’s very coarse but somewhat sparse which allows your feet to slowly begin to slide as you pump, especially if you’re really getting on it hard. It’s not bad, just could be better. The trucks on this board are what make it what it is. They are super responsive and the spring helps to propel you out of your carving/pumping movements. I have another board set up with the waterborne surf and rail adapter and the two handle very different. This board flows from rail to rail effortlessly, feeling a slight push back to center as you transition. The waterborne adapter has more lean angle to it, allowing you to cut a little deeper and make tighter turns. Overall I’m very happy with the slide surf skate. It looks good, feels good, and rides great. ... show more

  • Too much fun!
Color: Gussie Sting Ray
Great surfskate! I went with the gussie. The other skates didn’t look wide enough on the tail for me. And it really feels great. The propulsion is strong, the ride is smooth, the grip is on the less aggressive side but feels great for barefoot riding. Definitely five stars for this board! Good job slide ... show more
