The bit feels sharp and efficient — Mikniri 1/4" Slab Flattening Bit I used this bit to surface a birch burl measuring about 24" x 20", and it flattened the slab fairly quickly with no bogging or chatter. The blades are sharp and durable, and they showed no signs of dulling after completing the burl. With a 50% overlap on each pass, the entire job took about 40 minutes. The bit did get warm, but no more than expected for this type of surfacing. I can see why some surfacing bits are painted, though that can be an issue when using a probe that requires metal-to-metal contact. This bit handled the load well, and I can see it lasting through several birch cookies — I have about 15 to surface, so we’ll see how it holds up long-term. The shank length is about average and works well with my vacuum attachment, and I didn’t notice any flex in the shaft while cutting. The surface wasn’t perfectly smooth, but that’s normal; it did exactly what it needed to do: flatten the wood and get it ready for the next step — 5/5 stars.

This slab flattening bit from Mikniri worked perfectly in my router. The resulting cuts that I made using this bit were exceptional. I did not encounter any chatter, tearing, burning or other issues using this bit. It left a very clean smooth cuts, whether I was using it to cut a dado or using it as a slot cutter. I used this bit on Pine, Maple and Walnut and I was very happy with the results on each of the woods. I recommend this bit.

There's nothing like a fresh bit. This one levels wood very well. I get a level result for a good price. I didn't get any noticeable vibration. The shaft is rigid and the painted finish is well applied. It's a nice add to the bit box.

This router bit does what it's supposed to do: even out your surface and make it level. I had no issues with it even running it at 20,000 rpm; it's balanced well and the blades seem to be true relative to each other. I tested it on some hard wood and had no issues. Because it's a fairly wide diameter (1.5") this means you can flatten a lot of wood in a shorter time; your feed rate may vary with your application, but I ran mine at 10,000 rpm and fed about 1" per second and got a good, smooth result. (I'm not a pro carpenter, just a hobbyist. You might be able to run it faster.) It's solidly made and quite sharp, and can also be used for sanding or removing a surface layer. I think it's a good tool to have for any workshop!

This slab flattening router bits 1/4 inch shank works as expected, delivering smooth, flat surfaces on wood slabs and spoilboards with minimal tear-out. The 4-wing carbide design cuts cleanly through hardwoods and softwoods alike, and the 1/4-inch shank fits securely in my router collet for stable operation. It leaves a professional finish ready for glue-ups or finishing. It cuts quickly. The bit feels well-balanced and stays cool during extended use, and the carbide edges appear sharp and durable. Hopefully it will last a long time with proper care—early performance is excellent. This is an extremely well-made flattening bit. The blades are sharp and evenly spaced, and it does a decent job flattening the workpiece. I built my own sled a few months back, and it’s not perfect, so I had a hard time telling if the imperfections in cutting were due to my sled, or the bit, so I won’t hold it against the product. I’ll give the bit the benefit of the doubt until I’m proven otherwise. Whatever imperfections I could see were minor, and easily corrected with some light sanding. If you need to remove a lot of material quickly, or if you need to flatten a large swathe of your workpiece, then you could do a lot worse than this bit. There aren’t many options for those of us with only trim routers at our disposal, but this is one of the better 1/4” shank flattening bits I’ve used. I highly recommend it.

I have used this now twice on my CNC router once to flatten an MDF spoil board and the second time to true up and flatten a cutting board I was doing out of black walnut and deep pour epoxy... both times I worked exatly as needed, it's the right size for flattening (Some others think you need a huge bit for that NO NO NO you don't want anything huge the important part is how flat the cutting edges are to eachother and that the shaft is exaclty 90 degrees to the cutting edges!). The finish on the end product is not as nice as my carbide insert bit, but nothing running it through the drum sander (Or even hand sanding) will not clean up with one pass. I can't speak on the longevity of the bit yet, only time will see but I suspect that it will last well for a normal user, for the price it's worth it.

Well.. this thing looks pretty serious right? This bit is a good size. It removes material efficiently without feeling unsafe in a trim router. The teeth are sharp and evenly spaced, and the machining looks solid. It fits securely in a 1/4" collet and runs smoothly. I'm curious how it will hold up over time with the smaller shank, but so far it's doing the job well. For the price, it's a solid deal for flattening boards or resurfacing spoilboards when you're working with a compact setup. I didn't notice significant vibration in my initial usage so that' so that's a good sign.
