This is really fun for younger kids. I wish the base of the pottery wheel would spin easier. We had to use a LOT of water to get the clay to mold into a bowl and it's hard to get the clay to mold well. My 10 year old made a small bowl and then after it dried, the base cracked so be sure the bottom of your design is thick enough. Be warned- this is VERY MESSY. It ended up everywhere and I'd recommend doing this outside somewhere where you can hose down afterward. Just wish the motor were stronger for spinning as that could change everything. It's still great for kids however.

My daughter had much fun with this kit. It's a good alternative to taking a class, which we don't find any nearby. The kit comes with everything you need to start and instructions are clear enough for 11yo to understand. Great value to provide hours of entertainment. I'm planning to buy another for my niece.

Please, save your money and the disappointment, and don’t buy this to your child. The wheel is clumsy, once you put a tiny pressure on it to shape the clay it stops. Your child will be disappointed she would not be able to make the pots she sees on the box. It is a total waste of money.

well, this sucks. my daughter was super excited to finally use this pottery wheel to make a vase for the flowers she picks on our walks. sadly the wheel is greatly underpowered for any useful work. we tried using it and every time she started shaping it with the included tools it would just slow down and stop. this made her vases flop around from the uneven spinning and messed up all her work. we eventually gave up on the wheel and just made pinch pots instead. it didn't turn out as nicely as they would have using a wheel but it worked. the included clay is a generous amount and works if doing it by hand. that's the only reason i'm giving it 2 stars instead of just one. if you want a reliable wheel that's actually useable i would look elsewhere as this is too underpowered.
