If you purchase this gym, please do NOT let your baby have the cloud/raindrop toy. Last night I fished one of the raindrops out of my baby daughter’s mouth. Luckily I noticed the funny look on her face before she swallowed it. So scary. The raindrop detached from the cloud while she was playing with the toy and being a typical baby, she popped it in her mouth. The raindrops are about the size of large grapes for reference. The gym is pretty and has served us well until this incident. But I feel like it's an unsafe item and hope other parents see this review. I contacted Skip Hop and a customer service rep has said she will forward the information to management and that my item must have been defective. Update - I was never contacted by Skip Hop customer service with any sort of followup. I guess I expected some kind of refund or even just a “sorry your baby got ahold of a choke hazard from the baby toy we sold you” message but, nothing. Hopefully they improve the design. Pretty bad customer service considering what happened.

Finally a play mat I don’t have to return. I wrote my review so I could try to save some of you time ( I wish there was a review like this when I was doing my research about infant activity mats). Here’s a little bit of Important (according to me) introduction: I’ve spent enough of my time looking for a decent play ground for my 2 months old baby girl. And just like you I was reading reviews and comparing to the many other activity mats out there. Let me tell you, I wish I picked this one right away... but I didn’t, I read all 1 stars, 2 and 3, because they point out what the problems are, and some of a good ones as well, but usually they are pretty cliche. At first I thought, “yeah, those guys are right. For the baby it’s probably too plain and boring, not an eye-catcher. But If you wanna go for a look to match with your living room or bedroom interior, then definitely it’s a good choice.” So I ordered a completely different, one of the circus looking ones, for a little less $, but mostly with positive reviews. Super excited and all... long story short. When received it, As soon as I opened and felt the material of the “circus” mat, I packed it back. Super disappointed I went ahead and ordered this puffy cloud. And guess what, I’m absolutely happy I did it. So you might think, I am one of those who gives 5 stars just because “it looks so cool everywhere in the house, doesn’t give me headache and doesn’t make my eyes bleed kind of story tellers” and that It doesn’t really matter for the baby, then you’re wrong. The baby is priority number 1. That’s why I purchased it. What is more important, than the cool look is the QUALITY of this play gym. It’s very well made, soft materials (can’t believe it’s not polyester!!ugh), sturdy construction, archers have loops, good selection of toys included... And, what I realized is that lack of bright colors is much easier to fix, than material of the surface your precious little one gonna put his face on. Just add a couple of colorful eye catching toys (which I’m pretty sure you all have), be a little creative, and just mix and match it. At least that’s what I did and my baby is happy on a puffy cloud, not on a polyester piece of embarrassment. Thanks to whoever made it the way it is. And actually I’m glad that I can add stuff the way I want for my baby, because theres no way to make it special with the circus mats, it’s just too much, too many things to focus on, and just very obnoxious. But with is this one- you can make it as special as you want, because it provides a good base for that...and just so soft... I wish I could fit in there.

This mat is huge! And super cute! It will fit nicely into any modern setting without screaming gaudy baby toy. The cushion is low for tile floors do I put a mat underneath. I added simple links for extra color and versatility of toys. The sun mirror is wonky shaped but that is expected for a safety mirror. Baby plays, naps and is content there for hours at a time while I clean. Even the cats like it. The support cross is HUGE and hard to transport when dismounted because they are so long but that is what you get with such a large mat. That makes it hard to take with me if I want to travel with it or visit friends. Bonus is that I foresee my baby using this mat well into 1 year old because of its size (even I fit under the arc!) and the toys are diverse. I just wish it was machine washable, because, you know, it’s on the floor and babies poop and diapers are not full proof. That’s really my only complaint because I expected the large size.

PROS: - Very plush. If my baby slams her head down she doesnt get hurt. - Simple and cute. It looks great in her nursery and in my livingroom. - The lamb plays music and the star has flashing lights. My baby prefers tummy tine so I give her back time so she can practice rolling over. She get frustrated easily but Ive distracted her a few times with the star and lamb. also one of the toys is a rattle but my baby is disabled so she isnt able to use it too much unfortunately. - It has many purposes. Right now its an activity gym but later on it will be a simple play mat and her dangling toys will become stroller or carseat toys. CONS: - Its great quality BUT its a bit expensive. - One of the dangling toys clasps was crooked. REVIEW: I think this play mat is gorgeous. It would make a great baby shower gift because it is gender neutral. Its a very good quality with many textures for baby to feel. My daughter falls asleep on it all the time because it is so plush. Over all its beautiful and seems liek it will last.

My 4 year old loves to be involved and included in all things baby.. so this activity gym was the perfect option in size for him to get down there with brother. And the colors are beautiful. The quality is wonderful - very cushioned, soft and strong materials cute toys. Can't go wrong. I got the floor mirror to match now.
