I have mostly positive things to say about this bag so I'll quickly start with the couple negatives: - The boot compartments are fairly small. My 27.5 boots (shoe size 9-10) barely fit in these, to the point where I have to fidget with the zipper to get the pockets closed. So if you wear anything bigger than this and you want to be able to carry your boots then this is not for you. - The boot compartments are made of a thick nylon, which is water resistant, but not waterproof as the item description claims. So this makes it great for carrying things in at the beginning of a day, but if you plan to carry your snow-covered boots out in this then you should bring a couple plastic bags. And now the positives: + This bag has *a lot* of space. All at once, I was able to fit: * Adult ski pants, ski jacket, ski gloves, goggles in a hard case * Adult helmet (strapped to the outside using the included mesh holder) * Kid's (preschooler) ski boots, pants, jacket, mittens, helmet, goggles * Kid's skis (strapped to the outside in A-frame position + The pack also has straps going across the back so you could probably use this for a snowboard, or you could strap kid's skis back there and then put your adult skis in the A-frame position. + Even after loading this up there was still the large pocket on the outside that I could have loaded up with small things like hand warmers, snacks, and other essentials. If I were just taking a day trip to a mountain and left out my boots (and just wore them for the walk from the car) there would also be plenty of room for things like lunch food and water. + Overall the pack seems to be pretty sturdy. The material it is made with is pretty thick and seems to be durable. The list above weighed about 35 lbs. and this pack showed no signs of straining at any seams when I put it on, so things seem to be put together pretty well. + When carrying the loaded pack it was surprisingly comfortable. The shoulder straps are nicely padded and the chest strap helps with the extra weight. Overall I recommend this pack, especially if you are a parent who has to lug your own gear plus gear and whatnot for your kid(s). The only way I wouldn't recommend this is if you care about having actual waterproof compartments or if you have larger boots that you want to be able to carry. ... show more

    • Ski boots stored on the side of the bag doesn’t actually give you more room.

I got this thinking that I could recover some of the space that my boots takes up in the bag. Unfortunately, it doesn’t help all too much. The inside of the bag in the main compartment is then occupied by two bulging shapes from the boots as they stick in. I’m left with a pretty awkward space that is not divided in anyway. I had to shove all my stuff into that space, as there are no other really big compartments in this bag. My helmet didn’t fit neatly in between those two bulges. Where do I keep my sweaty socks and base layer after the ski trip? Looks like it’s going right into the same spot as my clean clothes, including my baklava that I put up to my mouth. I used this as a regular overnight travel bag for 5 nights and it was pretty good. Size - Large size easily allows you to fit enough clothes and items for 5 nights or more, depending on how you pack. The sizing allows for fitting of boots/shoes/well packed large garments. The large backpack size also makes it noticeable, so be aware it does make you stick out to wear a large oversized backpack. Build - Pretty well built, but not perfect. There are a lot of zippers and straps and they all seem to work well and hold up well. Straps on every side give potential allowances to attach items on each side of the backpack. I had to cut off 1-2 loose threads, so hopefully that will not be a regular occurrence. Aesthetics - Looks pretty streamlined and nice for a black generic backpack. Pockets - - 2 Large zippered side pockets - for boots or other. Each large side pocket has a small/medium open pocket. - 1 small zippered front pocket (for the helmet net or other things) - 1 medium zippered front pocket. I have been looking for a bag that would hold all my ski gear…boots-helmet-googles-coat/pants-socks-gloves. The bag I have holds everything but by the time I lug it through the airport, my arm feels like it will fall off, This bag is perfect with its backpack straps. The bag seems very well made and the zippers all operate very smoothly. I also like that all the buckle straps are adjustable and have a little sleeve to keep the end of the strap from flopping around. There is so much room inside this bag that I will be able to pack not only my ski gear but other clothes and things for a quick ski trip. This means I will only need one bag! The stretch mesh holder for the helmet attaches to the buckles around the top of the bag and it has its own pocket! The side pockets for the boots are just right. This bag has a great size and it's very roomy! You can fit quite a bit of ski gear in it like your boots, helmet, goggles, gloves, etc. The blue color is very nice and the material seems pretty sturdy and well put together. I really like the material as it seems to have a nice strength to it and it's not one of those bags that have flimsy material that just folds over. This bag seems to have a firmness like a suitcase.
