First of all I have a hard time buying shoes because I have a wide foot (EEEE). I orderd the X-wide and they fit perfectly, this is not the case with most brands. Some consider a D width as X-wide.     • Very soft cushioned sole

I have had surgery for Plantor Fasciitis. I most have a soft cushioned sole. I wear these all day can't wear another shoe. That being said I have to change these out every 4 month's. They're so soft they do start to break down faster. You might find you can wear them longer. At this price it's affordable and worth changing every 4 month's to keep my feet becoming painful. I bought these to use on a trip, thinking I would have to remove my shoes at the airport. That didn't happen, but I put a lot of steps on these shoes over the past several days on streets and cobble stones. They did great! Not thermally insulated, but that's not why I bought them. I bought these for myself because my wife has been raving about how much she likes the three pairs we bought her. She normally is fussy about shoes and especially lots of arch and side support since she was a runner for several years. While her shoes seem to fit her well and have noticeable arches, the pair I got have no real arch support and seem to not fit my foot well, being tight in the toes and loose on the heel in spite of being "my size" (US 10.5 med width). They feel like a block of wood taped to my feet. I put in some expensive arch supports which helped a little but made them even more tight. I'm hoping they eventually stretch to fit my feet. I normally wear ECCOs (size 44 / US 10.5 med width) so maybe I am just spoiled? ... show more

I bought my first pair about 7 months ago and usually walk at least 3 miles a day. So this pair now have over 600 miles on them. They look like they will need to be replaced in a month with the Summer heat arriving. But, that's quite a bit of mileage on one pair. Very satisfied with the purchase.
