Overall I like this shoe for my work. My first impression out of the box though was I was concerned that they were not comfortable. The insoles that they come with are simply not good. They are “memory foam”, but don’t give any arch support. So I then tried some Dr. Scholl’s work insoles. The ones that I tried are for men over 200 pounds. I’m 5’ 11” 220 pounds. Using those instead of the ones that came with the shoes was a good improvement. Now I’m going to put the memory foam insoles on top of the Dr. Scholl’s and see if that is even better. Steel toe (composite I believe), in sneaker style. Very comfortable. Only complaint is I tear up the heel section because I am too lazy to untie before removing. So, I replace every 4-6 months. Per fitness app, I walk 12mi daily, peak at 17, lazy occasionally at 6 miles each work day. Average is 12. 60 miles/ week, 240 miles per month. Old pairs are rotated out for activities that best to just throw away afterwards. Activities like spraying stucco / paint, staining deck, etc. These shoes also work well with inserts from "Good Feet Store", levels 1-3, with foam pad. Just thought you'd want to know. ... show more

He said the most comfortable steel toed shoes my husband says he's ever worn. The only downside is that he wears them out about every 6 months so that's two pairs a year. I think that a shoe should last at least a year. And for that reason only I'm going to give it a four.

I have worn these shoes 5 days a week for the past 14 months (9 hour days). I am an automotive technician and spend most of my time on my feet. These shoes have held up great to the abuse of the job. In the beginning, I hoped to get 6-8 months out of them. They took at least a couple weeks to break in before they were really comfortable. Don't give up right away! I almost did. After about 6 months the shoes started developing a tear/hole on top of the toe area. I thought this would get worse, but it never really did. After about 10-11 months they started to show wear at the seams, sole, and insole. Within the past month and a half the memory foam insole has deteriorated a lot where my heel and ball of my feet rest. Some chunks are missing from the sole, and the seams have become more loose, but have not separated. My feet and knees are telling me that it is definitely time to replace them. It's always a great feeling to truly wear out a pair of shoes instead of them just falling apart. These cannot be beat for the price. ... show more

I've been in the meat processing business for over 30 years and have tried every make, model, and brand of shoe or boot that exists. There is not a pair that will last more than 3 months, not one. These Skechers have a steel toe and are very comfortable. These shoes will last four months before I need a new pair. My feet still get wet as they always do, but the shoes are comfy and normally last a month longer than anything else. Keep up the good work Skechers! ... show more

These steel toe sneakers are nice looking sturdy work shoes in black. The laces are strong. The steel toe in my usual size (9) was impacting my toes, so I returned for these 9.5 which alleviated the problem at least somewhat. Tightening the laces nearer the toe keeps your foot toward the heel better. I sometimes wonder if the steel toe in a wide size is a different width than the one used for a medium width shoe! My husband is hard on shoes and these last twice as long as others he has tried. Memory foam makes his long days on his feet easier and the shoes dont wear out as fast as all the others!

I stand on concrete 8 hours per day on a shop. I've had other brands but what sold me on this steel toed shoe was the memory foam. My feet are very comfortable and know that this brand will be next pair to buy!
