I would like to say that the wood frame on this net looks good and the overall craftsmanship looks flawless. However, I don't know how I feel about the rubber netting. I think that it doesn't move as well as string netting. I think that it is heavier than string netting and I think that it is harder to control. I am still going to use this when I go fishing, because it will still work for what I need. Let's bring that fish home and maybe this new style will begin to grow on me.

This is a great fishing net for a campsite or kayak/canoe. It is large and sturdy and, as a result, bulky and a bit heavy. The rubber mesh of the net actually adds a lot of weight and would be much better being a standard nylon string. The mesh sack is also a bit bulky for packing as it needs to be folded up. But, if you don't have to carry it far, it is a capable tool. The wood is smooth and solid and there's a wrist lanyard so it doesn't get lost while pulling in a fish. This product is made in China.

I use this on my kayak in case of larger catches. I have not had a need to use it yet, but the net does feel and look quite nice. I am confident that it will work great if I need to net a large fish. The only concern I really have is that the threading that secures the netting to the frame appears to be pretty thin and looks like a potential weakness to me. I'll keep an eye on this each time I go out. This is the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars.

This is the first rubber mesh fish landing net I have ever owned so my review will be based upon what I have inspected visually without using it yet. This is a medium sized net with a wooden frame that has a solid handle but the wide wooden basket part of the frame is a bit on the thin side. There is some flex to the frame but I don't know how this would handle landing a heavy fish. The rubber mesh seems very thick and a bit cumbersome but I don't know if they are all like this or not. The mesh is attached to the wooden frame with cloth twisted string that I question about the overall strength of and how well it will hold up over time before wearing out. The handle has a nice length to it and is not too thick. It has a metal loop on the end which has an elastic leash with removable metal clip. The wooden frame is sealed with a varnish. The rubber mesh net has a good depth to it but is a bit heavy and does not open up very easily because of the diameter of the rubber mesh. This net I feel would not be suitable for a fishing trip that required backpacking in somewhere to due to the bulkiness of the net and size of the frame. It would be ok to use on a kayak or belly boat though.

I will state up front that I've already submitted an exchange request with Amazon for a new one, so I'll update this review once I get the replacement. For now though, I received this with a broken rim even though the box was perfectly fine and undamaged. This has me concerned about the long term durability of this net. It seemed nice, but will it last? Then again, every product has some versions that are flawed and maybe this was a one off flaw and the rest are great. Time will tell.

These rubber nets are ideal for trout fishing as they don't harm the trout's protective slime layer. It's a bit bigger than the other net I had been using but now I have a reason to catch bigger fish! I'm a little embarrassed though when I catch a fish and it's so small that it goes through the holes in the net... but that's not the net's fault. This net is sturdy and is very easy to use when out on the river or at the lake. Strongly recommend.

This net is beautifully made. It has a very nice wood handle and uses rubber netting that is tied on with string. it is very well made and I have made great use with it. I have used it on 4 and 5 pound fish on it with no issues as all. Great Product.
