  • Real High Quality Mixer
This thing is amazing. The mic preamps are really high quality. I like all the ways to connect different equipment and route them different ways. I really like the G Series compressor. It makes my vocals sound so smooth. Buttons and knobs are all high quality and have a great tactile feel. The faders move smooth also. Definitely a high quality mixer that makes me sound great. ... show more

  • Defective, Alto Music won't reply emails.. buy somewhere else
I bought the SSL Six on November, last year, on February I finally had the chance to use it. The Preamps work fine, the compresors too, but none of the monitor outputs work properly, they have very little or almost no low end. The monitors work fine in other sources and the cables are all balanced and working. Main Output and "Bus B" work fine too. Alto Music has not responded to any request and for whatever reason amazon does not allow to put any seller's feedback. My advice is: Buy it from another seller and check if everything works well as soon as you get it. ... show more

  • So Much Value!!!
Whoever says this is overpriced doesn't understand what this actually does. This packs everything you can find in large studio consoles into a compact, mobile studio mixer. If you're mixing live shows, recording, mixing this does it all. This can function as a summing mixer. Go ahead and try to find a decent one in this price range. Along with super analogue channels, built in EQs, compressors and SSL stereo buss EQ it provides tremendous value. ... show more

  • This is as good as it gets for a "consumer" or "prosumer" grade mixer. Look no further.
In full disclosure, I did not purchase this on Amazon as I found a mint condition open box on another sellers site and saved $200, but Amazon's pricing is spot on, and with prime delivery the best way to get this unit in your hands fast for the MSRP which is hard to get any discounts on anyway. As you can see, I have a small, literally bedroom studio where I record a lot of bass, and other tracks and I tried several mixers, including a Makie MIX8, a Tascam Model 12 to name two... none meet my needs. What needs you ask? Hi fidelity .. I am a gear snob, I have high grade amplification from Aguilar, EBS, and Rupert Neve to name 3, as well as items from Radial Engineering, dbx but to name a few.. I play bass, and own two USA Fender basses, a US Spector and a UK Wal Mk1 .. I use exclusively Mogami Gold and Platinum cables and when able use XLR/balance or TRS balance connections... for me sound quality is of the highest priority. I don't need too many fancy features, built in effects, and all of the other distracting stuff that is rarely of any decent quality anyway.. After much searching, I came across this unit, which shocked me as I never knew Solid State Logic made anything this small/cheap... to be fair, the do manufacture this unit in China, and not the UK, but at $1500 that is to be expected when they're using the quality/grade of circuits and pots they use. By contrast the knobs/pots on the other units were a joke, loose, imprecise and hard to micro-adjust.. where as the pots and sliders on this unit are precise and commercial grade. The pre-amp is amazing, and even at +72dB gain, very clean and low noise. The details of the unit are all public and on various YouTube videos or the SSL website, but I just wanted to explain in my words why I found this unit to be the best in class. ... show more

  • Great little mixer
I've used the mixer for live events. Given the fact a SSL console (Not interface) is north of 10K typically. This is a great price to get that big SSL sound. It's clean, great compressor, and an amazing mixbus. It's not a mackie or Midas. It's light years beyond.
