Description

SITKA GEAR MEN'S JETSTREAM WINDSTOPPER HUNTING JACKET One of the original SITKA designs, the Jetstream Jacket was built for active mountain pursuits in cold weather. A workhorse of a softshell, this jacket features strategically located seam lines to shed water while a GORE-TEX INFINIUM with WINDSTOPPER laminate will stop heat sapping winds while moving sweat and moisture through the system to keep you focused on the hunt.WHY WE MADE THIS We wanted to redefine how a softshell jacket performs on active mountain hunts. Our solution was to create a jacket that breathes well, blocks wind, wards off rain and snow, and did not inhibit movement. We achieved this with GORE-TEX INFINIUM with WINDSTOPPER Technology, durable finish to prevent the face fabric from wetting out, and an articulated patterning for complete range of motion.

  • Sitka Voodoo Magic!
After 30 years of deer hunting, I finally dipped my toes into Sitka waters. My first purchase was a few months ago, when I pulled the trigger on their Heavyweight Merino top and bottoms. Since then, I’ve spent WAY too much money on multiple Sitka pieces, including the Subalpine Jetstream Jacket. I’ve spent hundreds, probably thousands, of dollars over 30 years of hunting on multiple clothing purchases. Let me say, right off, I’m a big fan of clothing from Pnuma, First Lite, Treezyn, Scent Lok, Natural Gear and Plythal. (Side note…check out the Plythal line of hunting clothing. Super high quality very similar to Sitka quality and performance.) At any rate, those other companies are great players in the hunting market, but after trying several Sitka pieces, I’m convinced they utilize some otherworldly, voodoo magic in their recipe for making their clothing. I have no earthly idea how they can produce clothing so light, packable, comfortable, versatile and performable while at the same time regulating body temperature and adapting to your activity level in ways that seem impossible without some form of proprietary “juju”. It’s absolutely uncanny, for instance, how a piece of clothing like the Jetstream Jacket can be almost laughably thin, yet still keep you warm and pretty darn dry from wind, rain and cold in a ridiculous variety of weather situations. This jacket, like all the other Sitka pieces I now own, is a uniquely phenomenal performer unlike any other clothing I own from other reputable companies. You can literally wear this jacket consistently in cool temps between 50-60 degrees as a single piece, or in cold-to-freezing temps as an outer layer over reliable base layers, and, amazingly, your body’s temps, in some weird, unexplainable way, adapt flawlessly to this jacket’s “strange” magic. I’ve found this phenomenon to be true with every piece of Sitka gear I own. I don’t know what they put in their clothing up there at Sitka, but my mind is profoundly blown and my wallet is profoundly lighter. Is Sitka worth the money? A resounding “YES!” for me! It may be a mystery as to what “strangeness” Sitka incorporates into their manufacturing of hunting garments, but it’s no mystery that, whatever it is, results in some serious quality, versatility, and performance. Every deer hunter knows you need those 3 things from your clothing and gear, along with a lot of luck…and, sometimes…a little extra deer hunting “magic” to bag that buck of a lifetime. If Sitka can check all those boxes for me, I don’t need to know what alien life forms contribute to their manufacturing. I’ll just enjoy hunting in their products, no matter what weirdness goes into them! Bottom line…Believe the hype! Sitka stands alone in the hunting garment market! (DISCLAIMER: I DEFINITELY don’t believe in aliens, nor do I believe in Sitka magic or voodoo. Lol! But Sitka clothing will certainly leave you scratching your head…) Rev. • Quality
Excellent quality. Warm enough for most Missouri bow season. Runs a little small. Size up at least one size for layering as well

  • Awesome jacket
Color: Subalpine Size: XX-Large
Awesome jacket looking forward to hard use. Lightweight and allows for good movement. Wind protection and hood are great features. Fits well allows for additional layers. XL fit but snug with other layers. Choose the XXL.

  • Excellent! but not good for bow hunting.
This jacket is so feature rich. Fit, feel, performance exceeded my expectations! Had to buy a second for everyday use. However, not something I would wear bow hunting(i.e.. close encounters) unless the wind is whipping and making the woods loud, as this is not a particularly quiet jacket. Probably rates 2.5/5 on the quiet scale. I purchased the vest version to use bow hunting. I plan to this one for all types of gun hunting and scouting. ... show more

  • Quality fabric and pattern, double check sizing.
Bought the xl subalpine jetstream as a do all layering piece for being out in the woods, mountains, backcountry, what have you. Quality fabric, great pocket design features, easy access, good inner lining that provides a wind break. I can see myself using this for a duck hunting mid layer all the way to hunting black tail deer out here in Washington. Problem is sizing for me. I like a slightly looser cut for mid layers so I can fit wool layers underneath while still putting a puffy or a rain shell over top. I’m 6 foot, 200lbs and the xl is short on my hips and slightly tight in the shoulders. Could be my caveman genetics but I was hoping it’d be a bit more flexible, definitely “athletic” fit, which to me is tight. Not a huge factor since it’s such a good layer otherwise, I can still swing on target and it’s warm without being sweaty. Worth getting at a sale price for sure. ... show more

  • Great Price, Fast shipping
Product appears to be a genuine Sitka Jetstream Jacket. It appears to be a model or two older but is brand new with tags attached. Jacket fits great and the seller shipped my item very quickly, I am very satisfied with my product.
