Description

The Duck Oven Jacket is your CORE’s best friend on late season crispy-cold days. We’ve cleverly united the wind protection of GORE WINDSTOPPER and the lightweight insulating qualities of PrimaLoft, with Gradient fabric on the bottom third to make tucking in to your waders or bibs seam-less and non- restricting. The new Duck Oven features a more robust GORE WINDSTOPPER laminate, the addition of upper chest pockets and a high-gauge polyester knit face with mechanical stretch bonded to a high-loft fleece backer.

Ridiculously comfortable, windproof and waterproof. It was a last-minute panic-buy for me. I used them for fly fishing in Tierra del Fuego where it was very windy and cold (just above freezing), without a wading jacket. My feet got cold. Unlike most other hunting gear clothing this isn’t cut for someone that is vertically challenged for their weight. I find most hunting clothes are baggy and short. I bought the large and can fit a base layer (UA Cold Gear) and a lightweight fleece zip-up without restricting movement. The only part of the fit that’s a little off is the arms. I’m 6’4” and trim, and I typically buy 35 inch waist pants and my arms are on the shorter size for my height (35” sleeve shirts). If you have long arms the large will be cutting it close. However the XL would have definitely been to big in the torso. The material has a premium and durable feel. It’s definitely worth the money. ... show more

Say what you will about Sitka, but this is truly the best value in a warm jacket for a base layer. While it's not waterproof, it does what it set out to do. Unless you are out hunting in temperatures lower than the '20s, you won't need much more than an undershirt and maybe a poncho for rain.
